Tigerdadky
Hey my cruise is taking me to Key West. Anyone who has been there give me some tips on what to do and what not to miss.
zebra
Key West - is a very small town to negotiate. Easily done on foot, but there is a motorized "train" that you can take, they show you all the highlights and narrate - you know the sightseeing thing! Lots of shops, restaurants, pubs, bars etc. It's very colorful!! Ernest Hemmingway's house/museum is very interesting with his 6 toed cats that are still roaming there, if that's your thing. There's a great shop that makes leather sandals - it's usually packed out with cruisers, don't remember it's name. Sit at a waterside bar and try their conch (pronounced conk) fritters and of course the famous Key Lime Pie. Just enjoy!!!!

elfed
I would also like to add Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. That is if you enjoy a fun bar scene. Regards, James
JohnG
The Truman White House, Zachary Taylor State Park, Half-Shell Raw Bar, the Conch Train, and Mallory Square from 1 hr before sunset till shortly after, with it's carnival-like atmosphere!! We love Key West...spent week there one December staying in The Curry Mansion Inn, bed and breakfast. We rent bikes and ride around for the day. saltydog
Ditto on Mallory Square. A very neat place to watch the sunset. Duval Street is a great place to eat, drink and see some most unusual characters :cheesy: Another interesting place is the Mel Fisher treasure hunter museum. Lots of neat stuff that he found over the years in the waters around the keys. Enjoy P.S. Captain Tony's Saloon aint bad either Tim
