cobaltbluechaser
Hey all, I've narrowed down my first cruise to April 2007. It will be royal caribbean Mariner of the seas. My question is which should I take: Eastern Caribbean or Western Caribbean? The western has one more port of call than the eastern does...Can anyone suggest which way I should go. Its a 7 Night cruise. thanx chase
zebra
Hi Chase, great to see you posting! Well this is a personal preference question and I'm sure you're going to get a lot of good advice here. Our personal preference is Eastern - the islands are much prettier! lilrosie
Well, I have only been on 1 so far, but anxiously awaiting the second coming up...We have done the Western and Loved it..the upcoming one is Western as well, but different ports....A lot of places to visit so I do not mind going to Western....Plus I live in Fla so more convenient to do Western...it is a personal preference....What would you like to do??? cobaltbluechaser
yeah i can see its definately based on preference. One of my good buddys went on RCL for his honeymoon and took the Eastern Caribbean cruise. He loved that so....The eastern looks really cool but the western goes to one more port of call and that also included Cayman which I want to go to. Ahhhhh....I don't know chase Please keep the suggestions coming ifyou don't mind
s73645
I didn't like Western at all, neither did my family. We def. wouldn't do it again. We are going to do Eastern and Southern for our next local cruising.
saltydog
Cobalt, Hi, Our preference is the Eastern or Southern over the Western. I think the Eastern offers more variety in the islands that you visit. The western except for Cayman, usually means the Mexican coast and Belize, Costa Rico etc. Nothing wrong with them but they tend to look the same to me. But as has been mentioned earlier diversity is what keeps us all going. To each his/her own. There are plenty of things to see and do whichever way you go. Let us know what you choose. KeithnRita
Chase, It won't matter much which one you choose, as it won't be your last cruise. You are destine to become a CruiseCrazies and will end up taking all three routes. They are all good for a first timer.
cobaltbluechaser
Let me ask you is there much difference in going on a cruise on April 15 than May 13th? Crowds? Weather? For the Eastern Caribbean.....Mariner of the Seas
jacketwatch
 Good question. Both dates are past most spring break times if not all and before summer vacations. It will be a few degrees cooler in April I think but the difference isn't significant AFAIK.
