zebra
Ummmm.......another day in paradise here!!! We're in Acapulco today with our sister ship the Dawn Princess and also the Crystal Harmony. It's pretty humid and hot 34C (whatever that is in F) but it's a little overcast which makes it a lot more bearable. When you step off the ship you're accosted by taxi drivers wanting to take you everywhere and anywhere - some are so desperate that they offer trips for $1 each way to old town and cliff divers. We've done this before so we took a short walk around the waterfront and sat at a bar/restaurant with a "tall cool one" whilst enjoying the picturesque views of the bay. Then we stopped at a Supermarket and bought more bottled water - 80 cents for a litre - everything is very cheap in Mexico. Well yesterday was a sea day so we spent a fair amount of time at the pool reading, we also went to see "The Sentinel" Michael Douglas - excellent movie! Last night we went to another awesome show in the Vista Lounge - the same amazing comedian Elliot Maxx (different show) and also an impressionist. It was a double bill, but Elliot Max is the MOST FUNNY comedian we have ever heard!! After the show at about 9:35 pm we went upstairs for some decadent desserts and cappucino! I l-o-v-e the availability of food for 24 hours in the Horizon Court! For Princess cruisers, we have noticed 2 items that are now missing from the menu. Splenda and V8 juice. So bring your own Splenda, otherwise you have to resort to Equal/Sweet N Low  At 3 pm today they have Mexican dancers/folklore show in the Princess Theatre, we're looking forward to that. Tonight is Acapulco Deck Party night with the limbo, conga and all the rest - then at 11:30 they have the Buffet, which is open 15 mins earlier for photo ops. Like we need another meal!!!!!!!! Oh dear, we have to go and eat another scrumptious lunch fellow Crazies  ...... so I'll catch up with you later.
Mebert
zebra, I can just imagine everything you're writing. What's up with the Splenda? I know someone who's going to be really upset if that happens on Carnival.
zebra
Viva La Mexico Show was outstanding. They did different dances depicting certain eras and Mayan folklore. Also dances from various areas even Valparaiso - Chile. They were ultra colorful and very very exuberant!! Tonight is Island/Casual dress so everyone's dressed in their "Hawaiian Best"!!! Dinner was suberb as usual, roast duck, Louisianna Crawfish Ettoufe, Gnocchi with mushrooms & cream, Frogs Legs (not for me!! ). Other dishes which I've already forgotten. There's was also tableside preparation of some pasta and shrimp dish. All this was served around a huge ice sculpture of a shell which was packed full of giant peeled shrimps - yummmmooo The Island Night Deck Party starts at 9:30, so we thought we'd give the live Broadway style show a miss tonight and go to the movie "The Lake House" with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, which will end just in time for the deck party to begin. They have decorated the pool deck with real palm trees and colored lights and there are piles of lei's which I'm sure they're going to be handing out. Mebert, I hope you'll get Splenda on Carnival - I guess this is all in the name of "cost cutting." One disturbing thing that we saw in Cabo - we were in Cabo with the Carnival Pride, and we both had to tender. It was unbelievably hot!!! Where the tender came ashore Princess had put up a huge marquee for people to stand under out of the blistering sun (whilst waiting for the return tenders) and had set up 4 ice and water areas, which were an absolute godsend. I felt so bad for the Carnival people who were standing on the other side of our roped off area waiting for their tender - No Marquee - No Ice Water, we even saw one women pass out. I certainly hope that changes in the future!! Well it's off to the Party folks...... I'll have a Chocolate Banana for you all!!!
Gregswife
Jackie, I just love your reports. How many more days of this trip do you have left. About the time you get home, it will be time to start getting ready for the next one...
zebra
Hi Cheryl - we're on the 8th day of our 17 day cruise - I don't think I'm going to fit into any of the clothes I'd planned for the European cruise! How Survivor doing - who was booted off this past week? Last nights Deck party was a total blast!!!! The best we've ever experienced!!! Loved drinking our drinks out of a hollowed out coconut. We didn't stay for the buffet at 11:30 but the spread was amazing, I took a couple of pics and then went to bed. Things are really out of control when you start taking photo's of your food  When we woke up at 8 am we were docked in Huatulco, Mexico - absolutely the most most beautiful port we've been to on this cruise. We were the only ship on the dock (other than a very interesting Mexican War ship). The beaches are simply gorgeous. We were extremely adventurous and went on an ATV ride through the forest and rivers - we saw much wildlife (beautiful birds & iguanas) and ended up at a beach which I'll call Eden (don't know it's name) for a 1 hour's swim, it felt like we were on one of those deserted islands like they find for "Survivor". It's a must to do this tour - so exhilarating!!! The weather has been outstanding and we've both had a bit too much sun. I'm not too sure about the weather in Costa Rica and Panama Canal, both are supposed to have 60% chance of rain - so we'll see. We saw "The Lake House" last night - not our type of movie, it's a little crazy and you walk out asking yourself "what was that all about". We're now going to the Art Auction - which today serves complimentary caviar and champagne, afterwards Tony wants to take a nap (he's on his 3rd book this cruise) whilst I go to Arts & Crafts - they're making a "Velvet Wine Bag" today with beading around the top and a satin drawstring. Well that's it for now....... speak to you all later.

GottaCruz
Wow, Jackie. Everything sounds soooo amazing. Love the idea of drinking out of the coconut. Arts and Crafts class? I would absolutely love that. I have to get on that ship one of these days. I'm really enjoying your posts, Jackie. Thanks so much for sharing your cruise with all of us.
