bigred
Hello fellow cruisers! I'm still alive and kicking but very busy as I am sure you all are too. Ready? Ready for the cruise? I WAS BORN READY (for cruises anyway). The six of us are so excited we can hardly stand it. I could spend everyday calling one of the others to talk cruise plans. Sent the other couples their Sail Away invites (made some cute ones). Made each of the other ladies Cruise Journals for Christmas presents. Have been shopping for new stuff. Bought a new outfit for the flight, a new travel purse that is ergonomically correct, a new striped T (h-m-m-m still wondering about stripes), new jammies, and a new outfit for boarding (may wear it right to dinner too). Let's see . . still need new undies. Oh, found this nifty new travel item - really cool toothbrush that is hinged and folds together into its own case. A real nice modern toothbrush too, not those old fashioned kind. At Wal-Mart for .98. Grabbed 2 of those puppies. Also decided on taking Wet Ones travel pack antibacterial wipes instead of a bottle of hand sanitizer. It's flat and less heavy than liquid. I'm not fanatic but I always do things "just in case". Just got a call from son PJ and wife who are on the road moving to Denver. They made it into Oklahoma today but ahead of them is freezing rain, then ice and then big snow storm so hope they will stop if it gets too bad. (Left from Jacksonville, FL). The Samsons who are traveling with us just called and said their son's brain surgery went well without a hitch yesterday and everything should be fine (he was having seizures out of the blue). So that is a big relief. Two good phone calls today, things come in threes, so I am expecting one more good one! Who is ready to start packing? I think that I will get the suitcases out and line them up and get started. You guys have inspired me! Gotta take the Joey out for his walk and then I am dog sitting for our neighbors two pitbulls, so then it's their turn. (They are sweet angels and totally submissive contrary to popular belief). Hope I am not boring you with all my details but it's so much fun to share. See ya later.
PrincessOne
Good early morning, The Great Dane, thought it was time to wake up for some darn reason...now I am wide awake and she keeps looking at me to shut off the light. LOL... I can't sleep....UGHH! I made a cup of tea...maybe I should pack...lol... I started wrapping my youngest daughters Christmas gifts yesterday while she was in preschool....I refuse to spend all night Christmas eve doing it. Kids say the cutest things...every year I let my youngest pick out the wrapping paper, although this year, I had to make up a good reason why, lol...I tell her that Santa is just way to busy to do wrapping too. So yesterday, I didn't clean up the paper completely...and there was a wrapped stocking stuffer on the dining room table that she found...I quickly grabbed it...but told her that Santa must have had an elf stop by while I was picking her up at preschool to get the paper...4 year olds are so gullible...answered her whys and stuff and reminded her that Santa is magic...well for the first time I plugged in our Santa tree topper that doesn't fit so he is on the side sofa table...it is fiber optic...she said..."WOW, Santa really is magic" It was soooooo cute... Okay I am babbling on. Cruise....cruise....think warm thoughts...nice weather, cruise...LOL! Have a great day...

bigred
HELLO FELLOW CRUISERS! Did you all make it through Christmas in one piece? Ours was very calm and quiet as we celebrated Christmas in Chicago over Thanksgiving. Usually we are in Florida for Christmas so this was very odd. Just went out to dinner and opened presents on Christmas eve. PJ and Heather called from Denver. They made it through the snowstorm and Heather promptly got the SUV stuck in a snow bank. (Mind you, she has never seen snow before much less been cold.) SO she is crying and PJ gets her out of the car and she immediately falls on her knee. More crying. PJ is laughing so hard that he falls on his elbow. He said, MOM, I forgot what winter is like. We have now formed a pool to pick the date when Heather will say "Take me home!" Christmas Day was a lazy day and Paul made his traditional oyster stew and Nicholas called from Florida. His little family is happy and well but we sure miss him. Well, suitcases are lined up in the bedroom and all packed except for the dry cleaning and last minute stuff. I don't know how people do it the last minute. I already had to switch from two suitcases and two carryons (that we check) to three suitcases and one carryon. I simply must have room for all my purchases. I will carry a tote bag on board the plane and hopefully it will not be too full either. There are always things to buy. Finally picked up all the new undies and had to get my meds straightened out so that I will have enough to cover the trip. Guess I still need one more set of jammies as the new ones I bought are low rise. YUCK! Tomorrow big sale at Bath and Body Works. Am going to trade in one of my Christmas presents for my old favorites, Creamy Coconut or Cococabana. You can only get those in January or June. Very tropical. Paul always says that I smell like a pina colada. OK. I have rambled long enough. Somebody write soon. Gosh we are down to 23 days. FABULOUS! Good night all. PrincessOne
Good morning, I have trouble getting in sometimes...tells me I don't have permission to use the board, so...that is what keeps me away. I have no idea where Stephanie is! Bath and Body works...ahhhh, they were having a nice sale, with free shipping (love free shipping) and I got the foaming and regular pump antibacterial soaps for only $2 each...I also got the antibacterial hand gel...I keep these in my purse (except I can't put it in the darn carry on for the plane), but we use these all the time and I will be bringing them on the cruise. I also got the warm vanilla sugar bath and body wash stuff...mmmm. I can't believe only a tad over 3 weeks!! WOOHOO! The Christmas decorations will begin to make their trip to boxes this week and weekend. Then.....I can pull out the suitcases and attempt to pack...hahahaha! I printed my parents documents....today I will print mine, lol. Steph...where is sailaway? I am sure we can figure it all out while we are hanging doing nothing in Lauderdale. Oh....I have to cancel the extra rooms I have held...oops! Have a wonderful day...
PrincessOne
Good afternoon Star Cruisers... In the process of taking down and putting away Christmas decorations. I picked up some wrapping paper and Christmas stuff at the store the other day...not much there, I was amazed...I like to wait til it is at 70% off....but I didn't this time. As soon as the Christmas stuff is away....out will come the suitcases! I feel like I just unpacked from my last cruise, lol. I better get back to work!
