Panama Canal Excursions in Costa Rica

Any one done this lately? Everything seems like a long bus ride and I'm trying to find out if there are bathrooms on the buses.

One of us is confused, and it's probably me. Are you talking about taking a bus tour to the Panama Canal from Costa Rica? Or bus tours in Costa Rica on the Panama Canal itineraries? They do use motorcoaches with bathrooms on the tours they do in Costa Rica, but I'm pretty sure CR is a little far to take a bus to the canal in the time alotted for a port stop.

Hi Cheryl!

I took the "Sarchi" bus tour in Costa Rica when I cruised the Panama Canal on the "Infinity." The tour was around 3 hours round trip, and the bus was air-conditioned and had a bathroom. Also, the tour guides are excellent in Costa Rica. They are trained well, and are very friendly.

I also took the Sarchi tour when we were on the cruise in 1999. We were on a Princess ship.

Yes, they had bathrooms on the bus, and they stopped at many places for us to shop...and hit the restrooms.

Looks interesting, Joey. You guys seem to be into planning your own thing. I must admit, the cruise ship buses can be a cheesey experience.

I suppose it depends on where to. I'm a little nervous about arranging local stuff even though I know it can be very successful. I'd sure hate to get stuck and miss the boat!
