Jason
Carnival Cruise Lines Named a Best Cruise Value By Ocean and Cruise News 13 Years in a Row Source: Carnival Cruise Lines MIAMI – For the 13th year in a row, Carnival Cruise Lines has been named a "best cruise value" by Ocean & Cruise News, the monthly publication of the World Cruise & Ocean Liner Society, comprised of highly experienced cruise enthusiasts. The awards are featured in the publication’s Nov. 15, 2006, issue. Carnival earned top honors in the High Superior Four-Plus Star Category and was named the "Best Short Cruise Value" in the publication’s annual "Best Value Awards" recognizing those cruise lines that provide the highest quality product at the best price. Additionally, in the overall value rankings, Carnival Cruise Lines placed second behind sister company Holland America Line. Carnival was recognized for its fleetwide product upgrades and enhanced service standards, along with varied entertainment options, spacious accommodations and stimulating on-board atmosphere. "Adding greatly to the passenger’s sense of value is the effort that Carnival has put forth over the past years in upgrading the onboard product in key areas of service, dining and entertainment. Carnival delivers the fun that is promised in its advertising plus outstanding value for the money," said Ocean & Cruise News Editor Tom Cassidy. Commented Carnival President and CEO Bob Dickinson, "Over the past several years, Carnival has invested millions in product upgrades – from new menu selections created by world-renowned chef Georges Blanc to expanded children and teen programming and the new ‘Carnival Comfort Bed’ sleep system – all part of our commitment to provide our guests with the best value in travel. Receiving these accolades from such a prestigious group as the World Cruise & Ocean Liner society is a gratifying endorsement of these efforts." Carnival is the largest and most popular cruise line in the world, with 21 "Fun Ships" operating voyages ranging from three to 16 days in length to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe and the Greek Isles. The line currently has four new ships scheduled for delivery between now and 2010.

GottaCruz
We have taken more cruises than those that appear under my avatar. Every cruise, except for one, was aboard Carnival. We tried RC last summer and we still love Carnival. We will try RC again, though, and maybe , in the future, some other lines but we love Carnival, so we've been very content all these years . If it ain't broke, why fix it, right???

westernmom
After doing a ton of research before our first cruise I had decided that Carnival would suit us the best despite the "raised eyebrows" from friends when talking about it. I sure didn't regret our decision! We sailed on the Triumph and now have one booked on the Glory. I'm going for platinum!!!
GottaCruz
westernmom, It's great to see you posting and we're really glad to have you as a member. I also get lots of "raised eyebrows" from friends. We also loved the Triumph but haven't yet sailed the Glory. Remember to post your Glory cruise to our calendar if you haven't already done so. Suzila
The first Carnival cruise we took was years ago down to Baja, and we didn't like it. We said we'd never go on it again. Years later I won a cruise on Carnival for 4...who would turn that down? We went, and loved it...it was so different this time around, and we've been on Carnival many times since. We have a quick getaway on Carnival in just a few weeks that we're looking forward to.
westernmom
I find that it's too bad that we have to "justify" our decision to cruise with Carnaval! When I was choosing our cruise I knew we had to have a balcony, wanted specific ports of call, etc. and so I went with them. I just really bugs me when I tell people we are going on a cruise and the first thing they say is, "What line?" and then act like I have no clue by choosing Carnaval! After cruising with them we found that we fit right in! We aren't very stuffed shirt kind of people so the atmosphere was perfect for my old cowboy. He loved it and so unless we get a really good deal, we will stick with them and build up our past cruiser points!
GottaCruz
On one of our Carnival cruises, don't remember which, there was a country western band in one of the lounges. Wayne and I love country music and we were thrilled. We loved watching the really good dancers doing the two step. We have a close friend that used to work for one of the other cruiselines. They always cruised that line and we always cruised Carnival. When she stopped working there, they decided to give Carnival a try so we went together. They couldn't believe how much they loved it and have stuck with Carnival since. Wayne and I are into the nightlife, the dancing , the discos more than some of our neighbors who are more into the white glove service. When we cruise, since hubby has such a stressful job as a stockbroker, we just want to relax during the day and dance at night. Also, the food is important to us and Carnival has those midnight buffets every night, even on their 3 day cruises. So, for us, it's perfect. Different strokes for different folks, right??? That's what makes life interesting. Besides , if everyone loved Carnival, we wouldn't be able to get the great deals that we get.
