I'm not too picky and don't really mind where as long as I'm on the ship. Though you know what I find fun(pardon me), is having a room near the back of the ship. The vibrations from the propeller are nonexistant as far as I know, but the rocking motion of the boat rocks me to sleep :D. I really like that, very comfortable. Not to mention, when the boat docks, its really neat to see your whole room bend out of shape as the ship turns into port. But then it makes me sad returning...

I am continually asked by clients about motion on the ship and where to be. The easiest way to explain it is: hold your hand up in front of you with fingers extended and thumb toward you. Now waggle your hand from the wrist. The finger tips are the top of the ship, and the wrist is the bottom of the ship. Notice, the higher you are, the more arc of motion you go through. Down low (by the wrist) there is minimal motion. The least motion on the ship is midships and low decks. Perhaps that is one reason the midship cabins cost more than the cabins forward and aft. In my experience there is more motion forward than aft.

And if they don't believe me after all that.....I just say "trust me", I spent 20 years in the Navy riding grey navy ships and can vouch from experience.

When this question was posted we were still on the Zenith in an outside, port side mid-ship cabin on one of the upper decks. The ship did not ride very well and we suspected stabilizer problems. We usually book on the lower decks.

This photo, taken by our table mates from the UK, is of the "wave pool" was just two decks above us!
