btate
I would have to say . . . Trying to convince my wife that we are only going on a cruise for a week and having her luggage reflect one weeks worth of clothes instead of a couple months. "No Honey, there is not room for your extra 18 shirts, 12 belts, 6 bags of makup, 6 bathing suits, 8 pairs of pants, 9 dresses, 5 hats, and 18 pairs of shoes, in my bags!" SMB
I agree with all said... kids, drunks, coming home, etc. (and btate, I feel your pain). However, I think one of the worst parts of the cruise in embarking. You know that feeling of excitement you have when you first glimps your ship in dock even a couple mile away. From that moment, the only place I want to be is sitting on the deck with sun on my face and drink in my hand. The time it takes from the first sighting to actually being on the ship is truely painful from the anticipation! And it is only worse if there is a long line! YellowBird
I am with you on that one. Once on the ship I am happy. It is the wait that kills me.
popsec
I hear ya!......I've got 12 days to go and the time sure is dragging!
GottaCruz
I know it's important, but I'm not too fond of the lifeboat drill.
chachabell
I hate the air flight home. Seems like recently it takes us FOREVER to get back home. That said, most of our disembarkation ports have been outside the US. So in that since we are lucky to be able to see the world!
Gregswife
Cheryl, I couldn't agree more...we have managed to "duck out" of the last 4 of them, but we are traveling next time with people who have never been on Carnival so we told them we would attend with them. I wish there was a policy that if you had traveled more than 5 times with the same line, you would be excused from it as you already have the drill down... rogue
I also agree with you, Cheryl. They're definitely boring after your 1st cruise. Also, because when it's over, every person on the cruise is trying to get back to their cabin, you can't get an elevator. As a result, we're always walking up 5 or 6 decks to our cabin. Now, I'm not against some exercise, but I want to wait until I actually feel like I need it.
GottaCruz
Cheryl and Howard, I agree wtih both of you. We did duck out of the drill a couple of times. One time, we were in the cabin, being very quiet and the steward went around knocking on all the doors and opening them to make sure everyone was at the drill. When he saw us, he told us we had to get to the drill and we felt like high school kids , caught by the principal for cutting class. Another time, we tried again and they had taken attendance at the drill so we got a letter under our cabin door saying that we had to attend a drill in port or sign the letter saying that we had not attended and if anything should happen, we would be responsible for ourselves. HOw do you like that??? Since then, we decided to be good little children and attend the drills, although last cruise, DD stayed in the cabin and that went fine. I know it's important to go to the drill, but sometimes, they keep you there with that vest on your neck for too long and by the time you're done, you've gotten a nice headache to start off the cruise. At least every drill we've been to on Carnival , we've sat in one of the cool lounges or in the shade on the LIdo deck. Our one cruise on RC,; they had us out next to the railing , lined up , in the sun, for a ridiculous length of time. We were so closely lined up that you could feel eveyone breathing on you. It was horrible and everyone was complaining, people were feeling claustrophic. That really was unnecessary and not a smart way to start off the cruise.
