In all our cruises, we have never used either idea. Might be worth a try. Although we are usually very near weight limits on bags with convential packing. Always weigh bags before we lock them (TSA locks of course) and on our last cruise mine was overweight so had to rearrange some stuff.

Anyway good ideas worth trying. Thanks.

Me and Annie go for the zip lock bags as well but heres another tip! Take a Large Trash Bag for your dirty Laundry as you change and that way they wont be just thrown in the closet floor! The small laundry bags dont work too many clothes try a 30 Gal. black trash Bag then at the end of the trip just take them out and throw them in your luggage and oh, take a scented cling free and put in there keeps them from getting the musty smell! :wink2:

I bought a whole set of the Space Bags for the motorhome. I thought they would be great for storing linens and towels (clean) that I keep in the RV all the time. ON TV, it shows them getting the bags almost completely flat - I didn't have that kind of luck. I did get some air out of them with the vacuum hose, but nothing like the commercials. Last time we were out at the rv, I looked and they had expanded back to the same size they were when I put the things in them. I followed the directions, so have no idea what I did wrong. I am glad I saw this thread - I am going to buy some of thise new XL baggies and use them for the purpose you guys mentioned on our next cruise...

I too used the XL Baggies along with several other sizes that I packed. I tend to organize my dirty laundry while on vacation so that when I get home I just have to empty one bag in at a time in the washer, ie. whites, light colors, denims, etc. It makes it a breeze to get the laundry done!

I use small baggies to put accessories in for each outfit and then hang it on the hanger with my dress, etc. Learned this from my daughter when she was doing week-long pageants!
