cruisetarp
Welcome Yellow Bird - So glad you have decided to join us. I hope you will post often. Since I really don't care for the small coffee cups at the buffet the first thing I buy are 2 large coffee mugs with the name of the ship on the mug. I use them during the cruise and When we get home I hang one on my kitchen wall over the cabinets and use the other one. If I sail on a ship more than once they usually have a mug with the ports-of-call on it so I buy that one instead.
Suzila
I guess I'm somewhat different. I will walk through the shops onboard but never find anything I really need. As far as souvenirs go, I take a lot of pictures of each place we go...I guess that would be my souvenir. Ray did buy me a really nice diamond ring in 2005 on one of our cruises in the jewelry shop onboard...three diamonds. It was one diamond for each 10 years we were married. That's it. Just not a big souvenir shopper.

jacketwatch
Welcome yellowbird. Nice to have you aboard. As for the question I usually buy the standard stuff, T-shirts that is. I also used to buy alcohol but now with the restrictions I don't do that anymore.
Gregswife
Jacketwatch, our last cruise which, was on the Destiny, they had a great deal on Bacardi Rum. I bought some and I was so surprised when I went to check out - I assumed they would take it and deliver it to me on the last night of the cruise, but shey didn't - shey stuck it in a bag and handed it to me. I didn't question it, and had a few nights of having rum and coke on the balcony. I assume maybe it was a new employee who wasn't familiar with their normal practices, but wasn't going to point it out to her...

Shari2
I usually get a shotglass and a sun-visor-type cap with the ship's logo on it and then just other things as needed. Last cruise I got a nice straw purse for $10 to use for everyday on the cruise. Welcome aboard, Yellow Bird!!!
GottaCruz
Like Robert, I also save all of our sail and sign cards, don't know why, but just do. They don't take up much room . Maybe for wallpaper??? Just kidding.
westernmom
You can actually back them with magnets and use them on your fridge! I went crazy over those $10 watches! I think I bought about 10 of them but my grandsons loved them. I also tucked one in with a nice bag from St Thomas and linen from St Maartin for each of my girls. They thought I spent a fortune on them! Little do they know....... I of course had to have a whole set of the Larimar. I love it! One thing I did learn though - I spent days looking for a nice little evening bag and finally found one in a department store and paid a fortune for it and when I looked in the ship's shop they had much nicer ones for around $10!!! If I need anything like that again, I will wait! Have to tell about my husband. When we got off the ship at San Juan he bought 10 ball caps! He thought they were such a great deal. He's a sucker for the vendors!
