Sunbeam
Can anyone recommend what is the best balcony cabin on the Crown Princess?
Gregswife
Hi sunbeam - can't help you on your question as I have only sailed on Canrival, but I noticed this was your first post and I just wanted to say welcome and tell you how glad I am to see you posting right off the bat. I am sure that you will have an answer to your question shortly - all the people here are so nice and willing to help in any way they can.... rogue
It depends on a few things. The higher you are, the more private the balcony is. The lower ones are a bit larger, bot not very much. As you get further down(deckwise), the balconies jut out further from the ship, and are much less private than the upper deck balconies. We were on the Crown last July, and had a balcony on the Riviera deck. Our cabin was just under one of the pools, and we heard some noise from there, but it wasn't too annoying. We booked another cruise on her next year, and chose the Aloha deck. I feel that this should cut down on some of the noise, and the balconies are still very private. I hope this helps. Also, welcome to CruiseCrazies.
Dan
I like aft balconies, after we had one on the Sapphire last year. If you are after a regular balcony cabin (not a mini-suite or higher grade than that), there are several aft balconies on the Crown. I would look at Baja 750 or 751, since these have slightly deeper balconies if you feel like grabbing a lounger from the pool like we did. Unfortunately, when Princess designed the Sapphire and Diamond, and followed up with this new design for the Crown and Emerald, they didn't put balconies on the equivalent cabins that we had. We were on the aft of Aloha deck, which is the same deck as Riviera on the Crown. We were in cabin 746 right beside the Terrace Pool, and these 4 aft cabins on this deck have portholes on the Crown, where they have balconies on the Sapphire. sailingrose
We loved the Caribe deck balconies. They are large and 1/2 sun, 1/2 shade. DH liked to nap out there!
