SCIROCCO
Hiya Sunbeam My Friend! Me and Annie do all our bookings through the cruise lines and we do our hotel bookings as well we Drive down to Galveston so no Airfare, we had a TA once and the whole cruise and Hotel was messed up! Theres good TA's out there We just do our own bookings and have been doing it for 8 cruises now It just works for us better, theres others that have good TA'S, we just like doing it and being able to keep up with it online! agentjoey
Since my wife used to own her own agency we never use an agent. It can be a good idea if you don't know the ins and outs We usually drive to the pier but if we flew we would book with the cruise company
wraithe
I have 3 cruises, 2 booked and all RCL. I used AAA for my first and third cruises, Cruises Only for my second. Now, I know better, I book onboard to get the OBC, then transfer to an agent through the VA for veterans that offers a 5% OBC. Couple that with the stock owners OBC and I have a few bucks to spend as soon as I arrive onboard. This works for me.
jtutak
My preference is to book direct. But in reality I usually use a TA because of price. I always figure that the suffering I go thru with a TA is worth the lower price.
momwig
One of my dearest friends is a cruise travel specialist -- no one could be more attentive (to price changes etc) or caring than she is - we will continue to book through her. Gregswife
AgentJoey, I have been wondering where you went off to.........
Sunbeam
You gave me all good suggestions. I am wondering how protected I am by booking through the internet being canadian and on top of that Quebecer. In Québec, the rules are a bit different than the rest of Canada. I will keep on searching for answers and we are almost decided on the Crown Princess for November 10th, 2007.
SCIROCCO
Sunbeam Its about the same as a Ta you still have to give your personal Info and then its posted through the Internet by the Ta's through the cruise lines web site so its the same as doing it yourself except for some things the TA's do which Ive found out isnt that much more of a deal than doing it myself
KeithnRita
We found a great Travel Agent about 4 or 5 cruises ago and we only book with her. We pick the time the cruise and the ship we want and let her do the rest.
