ever made friends with a crew person

i was thinking about my friend vicki that i met on a cruise

she worked as a bartener and we hit it off (as friends only)

she is from poland and works 6months a year on cruise ships

we have e-mailed and have met off the ship once for a week

i took her to orlando ,disney. we have been friends for 3 years now

but she said that the cruise lines tell them not to befriend guests

have you ever made friends with a crew person?

did it last after the cruise?

No, not really. However for a while we did exchange cards with a saleslady for Columbian emeralds who we met in Barbados though unfortunately I lost her address. Now I think she works for a cruise line, NCL I think. We have met many very nice people who work for hotels, ships etc. that we have used. There was one fellow who worked for the Sheraton in Fiji who was especially nice. He was also a huge rugby fan so we decided to give him a Fijian natl. rugby jersey. I can still see teh look on his face. :biggrin:

I have made friends with Mikhail, the piano player at the piano ber aboard the Regal Empress. Miki has learned a number of new songs, for me, and we have an "act" together.

I have also made friends with some of the entertainers aboard various ships I've been on, but they end when the cruise ends.

Yes, I have one good friend on the Sovereign. She just had a baby about 6 months ago. I hope not to see her when I get there this weekend, that means that she's been able to stay at home in the Phillipines with her son. Her DH is also on the ship and I'll get an update from him.

Me and Annnie made friends on the Rhapsody and kept in contact through e-mail, we sailed on the rhapsody 5 Times! We always took calling cards and gave them some extra Money to spend in their Stores that they have for the crew members,they dont use the ones that we do all the times it costs too much and they get a discount as well in their concession store! Now the Rhapsodys not Sailing anymore for the Months of Sept,Oct,Nov. We will miss the Rhapsody!

We spend a lot of time relaxing on the Fasination's Lido deck, indoors. I should say relaxing and eating. Anyway, sometimes we get into a long conversation with one of the female staff who clear the tables. Very often, when we cruise the Fascination again, 2 or three months later, she is still there and we remember her and she remembers us. That happens with different staff members , not the same one .
