Cruise Accessories

I used to take a travel iron, but most ships don't allow them anymore. I do take a small coffee pot, but I will stop with that too because on our last cruise, we ordered a pot of coffee every morning. What I am wondering is do steamers for clothes work? I usually have the suit or tux and dress pants pressed only immediately when I get to my room. It is very cheap, pressing only. Also, what other little accessories have you found are handy to take with you. Thanks, Janice

Janice, I do take a steam iron. It works well - in fact, I used it on my DIL's wedding gown the night before the big event. I also take a small alarm clock - I know there are wake-up calls available, but I just like having a clock in the room and prefer one that I can see in the dark. I also take an extension cord, as electric outlets are not overly abundant in the room.

Oh, thanks. The extention cord is great. I know what you mean with outlets. You have to go on a serious hunt to find one.

This is just a small portion of stuff we take and "NO"! It doesnt take up that much room in our bags!

We take a steamer, and it does work to get out most wrinkles, but it does take time and sometimes lots of energy. We never brought an iron.

Downy Wrinkle release. Great on most fabrics and no need for an iron or a steamer!

We also take Duct tape, (as it can fix anything), small scissors, and my french press, cruise line coffee is awrful!

I find our power strip extension cord a must have with camera batteries, phones, etc all needing a recharge. We also bring downey wrinkle release as well as Lysol wipes plus our own hand sanitizer.

We have cut our packing a little by not bringing our steamer anymore. We just walk down the hall and use the laundry. Very easy............We don't bring a travel clock anymore just use the alarm on our cell phone...

Mercedes, great idea on the bubble wrap - adding that one to my list too. I always save the bubble wrap from any packages I get because the grandson loves to pop the bubbles and when he gets bored, I whip out a piece of bubble wrap.
