Review: We arrived in Miaim on Friday afternoon and there was shuttle waiting there to take us to the Embassy Suites where we spent the night. Great hotel and a full breakfast. Saturday morning as plannned the Liccia transportation company picked us up and drove us to the port;..........uneventful

Embarkation

The shuttle dropped us off at the porters bins and we proceeded to go inside to start the process. That was at 11:30. I don't want to bore you so I will just say we were eating lunch at 12;05 pm the Lido.

Cabin

As usual we had a balcony but this time we had an aft balcony...Now we are really spoiled as the sunsets and the views from the balcony are awesome.

The cabin itself was the usual, plenty of room for all our clothes, toiletries and etc. I always pack a ten pack of cheap plastic hangers and then just leave them or throw them out when I leave. They take up much less room in the closet then asking for more wooden ones.

The ship

The Triumph is a great ship...I didn't see much wear or stains on the carpet so maybe they were recently cleaned or changed. The ship is spotless

Dining

We had two great waiters well, actually four as the two we started with were leaving the same day as us for vacation and they said something about their time so they couldn't work for the last three days? Anyway the ones that replaced them were great also and the assistant waiter had been in Ohio so we had lots to talk about. The food was good not great..........but we enjoyed it.

The Lido food was great and we enjoyed everything on the Lido, The grill, asian, the breakfast omelets, different buffets and of course the pizza anytime you wanted it.

Shore excursions

Old San Juan

We got off the ship and walked around a little but I could have stayed on the ship and been equally as happy. No big deal

We always book through Carnival and we were not dissappointed this time again.

Our first was parasailing in St. Thomas We had five of us that were going but only four went up I was the chicken and my ticket had a picture of a chicken on it. The rest of them said it was awesome.

Second stop in St. Maarten was great. We took a catamaran from the pier along the coast of ST. Maarten which was awesome as we have never been on one before.

When we got on the boat the captain said whoever would like to drive go ahead. When I took the wheel I saw it said auto pilot so no big deal. But then he came over and said do you really want to drive. He took it off auto and told me to drive it just like a car which I did. The steering wheel was huge but I enjoyed every minute of it. We got off the catamaran and got into a swiss army jeep that took us on a tour of St. Maarten (the views were awesome) before taking us to Orient beach (clothing optional) I wished some people would have opted to leave their clothes on> We had a beautiful afternnon at the beach and he took us back to the ship around 3:00

Entertainment

The entertainment was good as usual. The same kind of Las vegas style shows. There was a magician on the lines of David Copperfield with all the bells and whistles so that was outstanding.

Debarkation

Again uneventful...We were the first color called so that was fine. We were off the ship in about 3/4 of an hour with no problems. We took a cab to the airport and had a few hours to relax, read and get some lunch before our flight home.

I am sure I missed something but all in all it was a great cruise.
