KeithnRita
We are looking for our next cruise and are considering the Carnival Glory out of Port Canaveral. That way we can visit with Rita's son for a couple days in Orlando. The Western Caribbean cruise is Sept 8 to Cozumel, Belize, Costa Maya, and Nassau. The Eastern is Sept 15 to Nassau, St Thomas, and St Maarten. The only port we have not been to is Costa Maya, however we are leaning towards eastern. What do you think? Which one would you choose? The prices are almost identical. We have not been on Carnival since 2002 on the Victory. This would also be the largest ship we've cruised. For you past Glory cruisers what was your likes and dislikes?
JoeyandDavid
K&R As far as choosing .. we would most likely do a port we haven't visited before.. with all things being equal.. that would be the decision maker for us.. the new port
Lisa63
Each certainly has its pros and cons: Eastern Caribbean: More sea days (that can be either a pro or con) A lot to do in St. Maarten Shopping! (again, a pro or con) Western Caribbean: A new port Better snorkeling opportunities Tendering in one, maybe two ports On both itineraries, you can create your own sea day by staying onboard while nearly everyone else is ashore. Let us know what you decide.
Gregswife
I would also go for the one that was going to a place I hadn't been before. I haven't been to Costa Maya or Belize and would love to visit both some day. While I love St. Thomas, I have been there enough times that I wouldn't choose it as a port. But then, you and Rita are such lovebirds, you are going to have a wonderful, romantic time no matter where you go!!! I think you 2 would have a good time even if the ship never left Canaveral... btate
Robert Frost said to take the road less traveled by. . I would do that.
teacp
Keith and Rita, Ken and I were on the Glory last year. She is a beautiful ship. If I was you I would pick the port you haven't been to. Costa Maya to us was no big shakes but to each his own......If I had a choice I would go back to St. Maarten..But, whatever you choose you will make the best of it.............. TheSkipper
We are doing the Western on March 24th on the Glory. Have not been on Carnival since 2000. We really enjoy Costa Maya, Belize will be a new port for us. Going Western this time because we did the Eastern last October on the Crown Princess. How's that for logic?? TheSkipper
Hey Kieth and Rita, Had a better idea, why don't you two join Roe and I aboard the Glory on March 24th?? Nothing better than a cruise coming up shortly!! Got some great pricing and we are getting set to depart. Going down a week early. We traded one of our timeshares for one in Orlando, so we will do the Mickey Mouse thing first and then head over to the Glory. Roe's Sister Diane and her husband will be joining us for the cruise. They are serious ballroom dancers! And, I know you two also like to dance on cruises. Roe and I do as well, but we are not in her sister's league. Think about it. KeithnRita
That's a very attractive and flattering offer to join you and Roe on this cruise. It's just to close to our timeshare week in Siesta Key. Rita is retired and I am still a working stiff with a limited schedule.
agentjoey
I have never done an eastern caribbean before so it would be a no brainer for me. I would pick it by itinerary. Where would you rather go?<]
