TheSkipper
Just looking through our most recent mailing from Princess and noticed some of the perks for Elite members of the Captain's Club have been watered down. Unlimited internet usage now has a dollar limit based on the length of the cruise. Used to be free laundry and dry cleaning. Dry cleaning is now missing. I'll have to read the rest in details, but this is simply being slipped very quietly into thier brochures. Pretty sneaky.
PrincessOne
I wasn't real happy about the changes either. Especially with the internet charges being so high! I believe the changes take effect in April 07. I have to admit, I didn't use too many of the perks in January... I used the internet, priority tenders...extras in the room I hope they get enough negative feedback to give them back! D
rogue
You know that if one of the lines does it, the others will follow.
jacketwatch
Roque you are probably right.
jtutak
I disagree! Princess put a limit on Internet usage because of CC members abusing the unlimited. I personally know someone that brags that his INTERNET bill was over $800.00 for a seven day cruise. There is no change in the Laundry-Dry Cleaning only a wording change. IMO Princess still has the best past cruiser benefits in the industry.
jacketwatch
Interseting. It helps to know how many minutes of free net there is I think. Actually I rad that cruise lines started to add a per diem charge in lieu of tips because too often passengers would skip the last dinner when tips are given out to avoid due payment. Dan
$800 worth of internet is about 40 hours. If somebody is spending 40 hours online during a 7 day cruise, they really should just stay home. I'd have to see what the new limits are before I say it's a bad thing. jtutak
Credit is per person not per cabin $75 for voyages of 7 days or less (equivalent to 150 minutes) $100 for voyages of 8-20 days (equivalent to 250 minutes) $200 for voyages of 21 or more days (equivalent to 500 minutes) You can use your credit towards a larger package if necessary, or enjoy all those minutes - compliments of the Princess Captain's Circle! (effective on voyages beginning on or after April 1, 2007)
jaschem1
The islands are getting smarter. When we dock, John goes to the internet cafes which are real close and walking distance. Just ask the info lady when you get to port in the shopping area. Very cheap, John was surprised. We noticed it was full of tourists. zebra
I love the internet perk - I used it quite a bit on our 17 day Panama Canal trip but didn't exceed the new limit... so my feeling is that the new limit is still very fair, especially that it is a per person limit! We use all our platinum perks.... why not?
