FrostyBoy, I won't even go to a restaurant by myself. So no, I have never traveled alone. Maybe it is because I have been with Greg since we were teen-agers and I will soon be 50, so have never been alone. I do admire people who are secure enough and content to do that though.

I've cruised alone several times. My wife doesn't have enough vacation time to go with me as much as I am able to go, so I have cruised about once a year without her on a seminar or conference at sea. I cruise about 5 or 6 times a year.

frostyboy - I've been traveling alone about half of the time since I started traveling alone in 1991. I do love going with a group of my friends, but I have no qualms about going on a ship by myself. I've been to Vegas once and went with two friends - they shared a room and I was by myself which was ok....they are smokers and I am not so we were on different floors of the Paris Las Vegas....but I will admit they had the better view! LOL I've only three five times shared a cabin with friends - all others I have had my own cabin while they have doubled or tripled up - I just love having my own space!

Hubby and I always travel together. But we've planned a trip with our sons, their wives and one daughter-in-law's parents this summer, and we wanted the other dil's Mom to go too. Her friend wasn't able to go and she said she'd go herself, but the price was prohibitive.

It costs the same for the cabin as if she had someone in the room with her, and she couldn't afford the entire cost of the cabin herself. Very disappointing.

I travel alone frequently and have even lived in Rome and Israel without my wife for several months, but I cannot imagine cruising alone unless on a singles cruise. The nature of cruising seems built for 2 or more people. I'm sure you could meet people on the ship, but I would always feel like an extra wheel (3rd or otherwise).

I have gone on cruises with friends. The great part about it is that we all have an understanding that if one wants to do something that the others doesn't they do not try to guilt people into joining. It's awsome. We hang out when it works but we also do our own thing.

If I could afford it I would totally go alone!

I would cruise alone ... but the cost is to much..... its hard at times to find people to go with you....my BF has anxiety about flying or being on a ship ....

i have beenn lucky but ya know i wish some lines would have something for singles to go without having to pay the high prices
