Gregswife
Thanks for posting this Cheryl - glad the good guys came out on top and maybe some of those thugs will think twice before trying this again.
Suzila
Yeah, can you imagine what they now think about the 'old' American tourists? LOL!
jacketwatch
Its interesting that the ship waited because if I read correctly it was a non-ship sponsored tour. Maybe they heard of what happened. I hope they gave these folks a round or two on the house.
SMB
I'm still young and have plenty of cruises ahead, Howard! Now I've got to work on some defensive moves... Does the Vulcan death pinch count? I would probably be the guy in the back of the van having an anxiety attack (I'm comin', Elizabeth, I'm comin' !! ). TheSkipper
Good work, whoever you are!! Once watched a retired DC policeman break the arm of a would-be pickpocket in Argentina while on tour. Kid picked this white haired black gentleman on our way into the subway. I heard the scuffle, turned around and this "elderly" gentleman had the kid on the ground with his foot on his neck. Heard him say "You would'nt last 10 minutes in DC, Punk." I'm 72 now and don't feel too elderly. Never had any problems, probly because I'm 6' 3' and about 240 lbs. and many times wear my Green Beret cap which says, "Mess with the best and die like the rest." Think that has anything to do with it?? Anyway I salute this gentleman whoever he was. Well done, soldier.
Rat
What a story! Too bad one of the robbers had to lose their life in the process.
boba
I.m only 49, but I know a few of those retired WWII and Vietnam vets. Let me tell you, I wouldn't mess with them. They're some tough old birds. Thank god we've got them.
zebra
What an amazing story - hope this unfortunate happening deters the bad guys, it sure would put a damper on cruise excursions if this kind of thing started to happen regularly. Mebert
That was a tragic and very horrifying story. I can't imagine being a member of the group and having to continue the cruise without nightmares and watching my back all the time.
