Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising.

I do not have any experience with Carnival cruise line, but I know a lot of crazies here are partial to it. Hopefully they will jump in and answer any questions you may have.

When we were in Grand Caymen we went to Stingray City and swam with the rays. It was the most incredible experience ever. (I am not a great swimmer and not overly fond of the water - we were standing just slightly over waist deep)

In Cozumel we were to Paradise Beach - had a great lunch on the beach - really great day.

I haven't been to Belize in many years but do remember an enjoyable trip to the Mayan Ruins. It was not my favorite port but got better once you left the area where the tenders docked

We just made our first trip to Costa Maya in May and loved it. There is a public pool right where the ship docks but we went to Pez Quadro for an all inclusive day - beach, drinks and a lobster lunch (extra charge)

I can't wait to go back there.

As I said we have a lot of information here and a lot of different opinions about different ships and ports but we all agree to disagree so that makes for a friendly cruise site. If you do not get an aswer to your question, feel free to ask again. Sometimes the boards move so fast it is easy to overlook a question.

Happy sailing and happy planning -

We aren't much for the beach, so usually take the city tours when we do excursions in a place we've never been before.

In Grand Cayman we went the the turtle farm...the biggest turtles you've ever seen, and we went to see the limestone formations...called HE (Double hockey sticks). There's a post office right there and they'll send postcards home with that postmark on them.

In Cozumel we tried to go see the Mayan Ruins, but there had been a hurricane two weeks before and they cancelled that excursion because the road out there was destroyed. If I ever get back there, we'll try again.

You're going to love cruising. Stick with us and we'll answer whatever questions about it you may have.

Yes, you SHOULD be afraid...very afraid! LOL! Cruising is extremely addictive.

The very first time we booked a cruise, we did only a 3 day, because both hubby and I tend to get seasick. We stood in front of the ship (when you first see it, it's overwhelming) and someone took a picture of us. Out of the sides of our mouths, we both asked the same question...what are we doing and why? I remember telling my hubby to keep an open mind, because we had heard from so many people how wonderful cruising is.

The very same day we got off the ship we went back to our travel agent and we booked a 7 day cruise. That's how much we loved it. Just keep telling your hubby to keep an open mind. It only takes one cruise to get hooked.

Congratulations on the booking. There have been quite a few people who were only luke warm about going on a cruise, and became as crazy about cruise as the rest of us.

We sailed on the Legend a few years ago, and loved her. She's one of the easiest ships to get around on. Lots to do, and never really seems to be too crowded.

We cruised same itinerary 2 years ago. We cruised in April, and it was very hot. We went cave tubing in Belize, hit the Mayan ruins in Costa Maya, snorkelled in Cozumel, and tour around Grand Cayman to the Turtle farm. It's a nice itinerary.

Youll have plenty of time on what to do, so just keep on asking questions, and you'll be able to iron out all of the details.

ColoradoSweetheart,

I have said the Carnival Legend, but not that itinerary. I have been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, but not to Belize/Costa Maya. Combining my two experiences, The Carnival Legend is a great ship with a wonderful crew. Grand Cayman is really expensive and I really enjoy Cozumel. I don't know much about Grand Cayman except I took one of those submarine rides and saw sealife and the sea bottom. In Cozumel I took cab to the main town and did some shopping. Cozumel has lots of shops and restaurants. I believe I passed a Senor Frogs there.
