SMB,

It just goes to show that despite all the negative things that are happening in the world there are still millions of good and caring people who we never hear about. Many of them are right here on our board.

cruisetarp,

I don't know how people get the notion that New Yorkers are cold and uncaring. Whenever I need help or ask for directions in someplace like Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, or Staten Island there are usually a crowd of people who form and want to tell me how to get to where I'm going. One can easily get lost in those boroughs and need all the help one can get.

mercedes,

You're welcome. I've read your contribution in another thread and perhaps you're too modest to put it here. You're such a wonderful parent.

Wow, this thread is something else. These stories are so touching. I'm sitting here with tears running down. Each and every story here is so very special and so inspiring, to say the least. I knew before this thread was started that we have such amazing people that are members here and this just proves it even more.

Mebert, this was a beautiful and fantastic idea for a thread. I think that these are the kinds of stories that we read and never forget. These kinds of stories make such great impressions that I really do feel that when any of us needs the inspiration or the support or those kinds of positive feelings, we will always think of these stories. I must tell you that, right now, going through a difficult period with DD, reading these stories gives me the feeling that everything will turn out fine.

Every single one of you is extremely special, caring , sensitive, loving and on and on and on.

LOve you all. Hugs,

GottaCruz,

I think, any time now, you're going to write something in the thread about your DD. She has great parents. She'll eventually get the message and come around. Keep the structure, be patient and hang in there. She'll thank you for sticking to your guns later.

Cheryl - hang in there. Remember that you have many many friends here pulling for you. I'm sorry your DD is giving you such a hard time right now but remember be strong - be firm and stick to your guns. Your daughter needs a Mother - it is not necessary for you to be her Best Friend Too! I remember years ago my DD thought she had the meanest mom in the whole wide world - today we are great friends and (I guess) all is forgiven. (Now it's her turn to be the meanest Mom in the whole world)
