Thank you everyone! I still need to call Carnival to find out about this Kid's Fun Formal. Maybe I'll ask my new TA :P I've never worked with a travel agent before.

You know, my daughter is going to love formal night -- whether at our side or at a children's one. I grew up a country girl tom-boy. I have these huge feet that put me in terrible pain when i try to put them in dress shoes. And here I have this child, growing up urban, with an amazing fashion sense at age 7! LOL. She ADORES dressing up. I enjoy looking at DH and saying "She didn't get that from ME!" *grin*

Thanks all!

Sherry

txSherry,

I've seen some women wear some really flashy and dresssy flats. They looked very much in place and the women seemed very comfortable.

I know some women sacrifice their feet and bear a lot of pain to stay at the peak of fashion.

Thank God I'm a man and can wear big shoes because my feet are a size 14. I'm only 6 feet.:biggrin:

Mebert, Wayne wears size 15. He's six feet, 2 inches tall.

txsherry,

My kids spent a lot of time over the last 12 years at Camp Carnival activities. That's why we always stuck to Carnival. The past couple of years, DD hasn't attended their activities since she's 15 now but when she did, Fun Formal night was when the camp kids ate dinner together at the LIdo deck instead of with their parents. Special food was ordered for the camp, such as mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, etc. Then the camp took the kids to the show and they sat together up in the balcony. I don't understand why it's only for an hour now. Don't go by me, though, since they probably changed things around since my kids attended. Also, on the very first night of the cruise, there was always a get together in the disco for kids to meet each other. They did games , etc. , with the D.J. and even the parents got up and joined in. Maybe that's what they're referring to for the one hour. Try to get to that the first night so that your child can meet other kids right away and then she'll love going to camp. My kids always loved Camp Carnival. Enjoy.

On our last cruise in January the Captains Cocktail party was before dinner. This was chance to meet the Captain and his crew at this party. He introduced everyone and posed for pictures with the guests. We then went into formal night dinner and again at the show he introduced everyone.............I love it.......Ken hates it....

Cheryl-GC > Thanks for the additional information on the Camp Carnival. The introduction night actually sounds like fun! I figured it would be a great idea to get to know the counselors and make me feel better iykwim, but I didn't even consider DD meeting the other children! Terrific!

GottaCruz,

Wayne must know what I'm talking about. He's got me beat. I hope he wears big comfortable dress shoes as well.

You didn't mention whether or not Jason still participated with Camp Carnival.:biggrin:
