Temporary Tattoo Art

Has anyone done the temporary tattoo art on board? I believe it's Henna and air brushed on, not sure though. I was thinking of this but wondered what your experiences were? And how much it cost, too. DH and I might enjoy getting tats that wear off in a few weeks.

So has anyone taken a walk on the wild (albeit mostly tame) side?

I have seen them in port but never on the ship - maybe that is something they do in the spa, and I will admit, I have never been to the spa, but am going there next cruise. We are traveling with our best friends and I am going to surprise her with a spa day while at sea. I have never gotten a temp or permanent one, I am just not a "tattoo" person, although my oldest son is a tattoo artist He teases me by telling our friends that I have a horse tattoo on my butt but I really don't...

henna tats .. are ok .... they can stain your skin if not done right

check with beauty salons some do them....

i had one done for a friends weddings all the bridemaids had then done for the wedding

i have perm tat's i have spent alot of money for mine but if you want then done right and safe then you will pay for it...

henna tats can go for 50-100 dollars about the same for smaller perm tat's .....the one on my lower back was 300 total it was done in pieces , my shoudler one was 140 .. my ankle was 100... and one i am planning now will be around 250 total when its done...

be sure to check the person out first like look at the shop and people working there and health levels like sanitary ... and of course word of mouth... i found the guy who does mine by alot of people referring him

Just remember once ya get INKED its in the blood and your want more ...

Tonia, I'm such an old fuddy duddy that I don't think I'll ever get "Real" tats! *smile* But that's why the thought of the Henna is appealing -- can have fun without it being permanent. Will definitely look at the conditions of the place, though I don't know if I've enough basic knowledge to do a good assessment.

Cheryl/GC the 'pool side' affair sounds like what I'd read about!

Well, I just bought a new swimsuit, so i might take the "plunge" so to speak! heh. My cousin has a beautiful dolphin swimming along her back, but she's always been more of a rebel than me.

caio ya'll and thanks for the info!

Tonia, everyone I know who has gotten a tattoo, ends up getting more and more. My son charges a basic rate of $100 per hr. and said that most that he does take 3-4 hrs. He is really an amazing artist and is very detail oriented. I have heard they are terribly painful to get though. Here is a link to my son and his work - don't ask me why he is holding a sunflower in the pic it was his wife's idea...

Cheryl to bad your son is not in california..... his work is very nice..... his rates are about right....

Well regards to being a rebel i never got a tat till i was 40....and rest is history....

Its a way to express who i am .. and i am not saying it doesn't hurt the one on my back i had to take a few breathers threw it....but the one that hurt the most was my ankle ....

the one i am planning now is my given name in japan...TERUMI... i had to research arists that do work in japanese .. because one wrong move it could mean something totally different...with some artwork i have designed to go with it....

i can't wait....

but one thing i relized when i turned 40 ( not sure why it took so long).. don't leave what you want till its to late to enjoy it....and never say i don't have time life is way to short...
