TheSkipper
Welcome Aboard Cathy!! Glad to have you. Don't listen to Gregswife and skip lifeboat drill. They are conducted for a reason. One day you may need that information. And, after awhile they get kind of funny! In any case, glad to have you join us.
SMB
Welcome, Cathy. The only way to make the drills less painful is to make sure you have a rum-punch when they sound the drill.

mrsgauthier6
Be aware, once you take your first cruise, you will want to take one every year. I have been on 2 and I am dying to take another one. You will have fun......I promise.
mrsgauthier6
We did have to stand out on our muster station as well with our life jackets on....felt kinda silly but I guess it is important to do these things. Might try to hide on the next one.....lol.

Spikesgirl
Hi, Cathy. I'm still a newbie with this site myself. it can be as addicting as crusing - just to warn you! this is a great bunch of people, very welcoming and friendly. I hope you'll come over to the general discussions board and jump in there. This is a great place to pass the time in between cruises and met some great people at the same time. Charlie P.S. never skip the muster drill. it's a chance to see if everyone else looks as silly as you feel in your funky orange vest. And NEVER blow the stupid whistle. Gregswife
Charlie, I know that the Coast Guard requires the drill - I just think that once you have been to 5 or so you should get an exception - they are all the same. Here you are standing in the sweltering heat, with sweat runnng all over you, and I can't help but think how many other people have prespired all over that same life jacket, and I am sure they don't sanitize those things.....Yuck
SMB
Thanks, Cheryl. Gross, yuck, nasty !!! Now I will have to bring two things with me on the next drill... the rum punch and clorox wipes.
Suzila
CHERYL! Shame, shame, is your name! Always go to the boat drills...THEN you can start your vacation. Welcome Cathy! Nice to have you join us!
