Can't believe that the cruise is just around the corner. We are leaving for Miami on Friday. We will be enjoying the rest of the day there. Hopefully, we will be able to buy wine at the Publix across the street from the hotel so that we can bring it on board the Century on Saturday (5-night cruise).

They do sell wine at the Publix ? Right???

It is so coooold here (Ottawa, Canada) today (minus 40 with the wind), I would leave today if I could.

I could not manage to obtain a confirmation number for the hotel, but I am entertaining positive thoughts -- everything will be alright.

I will make a brief summary on my return.

Sunbeam, hope you have a wonderful time. I am not familiar with Publix so can't answer that question. Does the ship allow you to carry on wine? Just asking because I have heard that some lines will deny you boarding if they catch you trying to sneak it on. I am not sure if that is the case, but have heard it - in fact I think I heard it here at this forum, so maybe someone else could answer that too. I know you must be so excited - I wish my cruise was that close. Happy sailing....

Yes, they do sell wine at Publix, but you might want to check with the cruiseline to see if you will be allowed to carry it on. As of now, i'm thinkin' only Princess doesn't really make a fuss, but I could be wrong.

Have an incredible cruise I wish you blue skies and calm seas.

Thansk for the good wishes.

Yes we are entitled to bring wine onboard.

Celebrity's policy:

Guest are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor on board for consumption or any other use. Guest wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them at the beginning of the cruise may do so, limited to two (2) bottles per stateroom.

Sunbeam,

Welcome to Cruise Crazies.

I'm glad to see you posting and look forward to seeing more.

Please make sure to get some sort of confirmation number from the hotel so that you don't have any surprises when you arrive in a far away place. You may be able to find somewhere else to stay but it may not be at the price you expected to pay.

Mebert

I did not reserve the room, Celebrity did. They are the ones paying for it. We got bumped a day ahead of our trip because they could not get airfare for us on Saturday.

I checked through Marriott International Reservations, through Reservations at Marriott Dadeland ---nothing.

I phoned Celebrity and they told me not to worry that I would get a room. They reserve a block of rooms and I would have one. It made nervous a bit, but I do not have control over the situation, so I will see on Friday when we get to Miami.
