Kid's carseats in Cozumel Cab

We will be in Cozumel and hope to do the beach at the park while my daughter and son in law do the dolphins. Do you have to have carseats in Coz? I can't imagine hauling them all around with us. What do other parents do?

You don't have to have car seats in Cozumel. You can use them if you wish for the youngest ones.

When I was in Cozumel there were entire families riding on scooters!! the kids just stood in fron to the driver. My jaw almost fell off when I saw this, so I don't think car seats are very popular or exsist in Cozmel!

When I flew last week, a family in the row behind me had a safety harness for their son, who was two years old. I didn't think to get the name of the manufacturer, but I have seen these advertised. Some are FAA approved (as was theirs, I suppose), while I'm sure others can be used in cars. Of course, the cars must have a seat belt, which might not be a given in Cozumel -- but I'd wait for a taxi that had one. JHMO.

I would leave the car seats home. Mexico doesn't have laws for that. (For that matter, I leave the younger kids home too, but that's just me.)
