First Time sailing from Port Canaveral: How is it?

Hi All,

Going on my second cruise with my family on Sunday. We're sailing on the carnival sensation out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Our first cruise was out of Miami, and I'm curious to know how the embarkation and debarkation process compares. Is it more organized or less organized? The tickets say boarding time is 1:30-3:30 but is it true you can still board the ship earlier than that most of the time? Any tips would be appreciated.

Sailing out of Port Canaveral is like your typical embarkation with Carnival. There are no major differences. Port Canaveral is a little bit further away from the airport than Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, so you have to give yourself a little more time.

With Carnival you can board early, perhaps as early as 11:00 AM but your accommodations will not likely be ready until 1:00 PM. So if you intend to board early, try not to carry a lot of bags. It may prove inconvenient.

I've only used Canaveral, but I think it is great; very easy to find. From what I've read, it might be the best port on the east coast.

It was smooth sailing all the way. Embarkation went very quickly. Enjoy the ride!!!!

Embarkation is very quick and Port C is very easy to get to - not like Miami with all that awful traffic. We sailed out of there with Disney Cruise Line as well - they have an awesome terminal.

Just watch as you get near the bridge to the port area.

It offers a wonderful view of the entire port area.

We used this port one time and they have their act together as for arrivals and departures and long term parking.

We will be doing our first cruise out of Pt. Canaveral in a little under two weeks. Looking forward to it as a "new adventure."

hello the port is very easy in and out of

and getting on and off the ships is so nice there no real walking

from the parking lots to the ships
