Spikesgirl
This is officially unconfirmed at this point, but the 2008 catalog seems to confirm that Princess is severely curtailing its Caribbean cruises next year and will not be sailing out of Florida at all. Just wonder if anyone else has heard this? Charlie
mercedes
No, I haven't, but then again I am a Carnival cruiser .
Dan
Probably a matter of it's too early yet. The website only has a couple Caribbean cruises listed for May 2008 at this point, and only 10 for the whole line for that month, but it will open up soon. There isn't a chance in you know where that Princess will stop sailing from Port Everglades.
rogue
On of the two cruises that they had listed for May 2008 was a repositioning cruise for the Crown Princess from San Juan to New York. We booked that cruise, but two weeks ago we were told that the cruise was cancelled. I have a feeling that they're about to redeploy many of their ships to different itineraries for the 2008 summer season..
Spikesgirl
That was sort of my feeling too, Howard, but as Dan mentioned, that is a lucrative market for Princess. Just was curious what other people have heard/seen. Thanks! Charlie
SCIROCCO
RCCL Is pulling out of the Western Caribbean as well for the fall months, whats going on We always cruised on the Rhapsody out of Galveston In October and now they have no bookings for 07 or 08 for Sept, Oct, or Nov. Thats why Im going on the Conquest with Carnival Lines we shall see!
sailingrose
I think you'll have to wait a while longer for a true sailing list. Princess is just putting out brochures that include 2008. Maybe in the next few weeks.
jtutak
Jan 2008 - Grand, Emerald, Royal, Caribbean, Pacific Princess are all sailing from Ft. Lauderdale looks like a strong presence to me.
Dan
My impression from the title was the poster was referring to late 08/ early 09. I think part of why it seems so late for them to be opening up the schedule might still be uncertainty about New Orleans. Princess was going to put the Crown Princess in NOLA last winter, so they might still be evaluating whether they might want to look there for that season, or plan on deploying elsewhere again. Spikesgirl
Thank you for clarifiying for me, Dan, that's exactly the time period I'm looking at. My question stemmed from a poster on another site who have just received the 08-09 schedules and made this observation. I'm just sort of looking for confirmation, since this is the period we are thinking about going to the Caribbean on Princess. I'm think there will still be ships sailing, but possibly not out of FLL Charlie
