What is your favorite activity while in port?

We have many Cruise Crazies now and although we're crazy about cruising there are a variety of different tastes.

Let's make a list of the things we like to do while in port in the order of preference.

By making this list newbies will have a chance to see the wide variety of interesting activities to be done while in port.

I'll start with:

1. Taking a tour of the city or town sites

2. Checking out the main cathedrals or churches in a city or town

3. Having conversations with the locals

4. Visiting historical monuments or sites

5. Taking a ride on local public transportation

6. Take a taxi tour of the areas not seen by tourist (Not recommended for the general public or while traveling alone)

7. Looking for caps with the names of the port cities or countries embrossed on them

8. Shopping

I know my port activities are corny by some standards but those are things that I find great personal pleasure in. It doesn't take much to please me on a cruise as long as the food is a little better than decent.

Other Cruise Crazies may have some more exciting and adventurous activities that they can share with us.

You first time cruisers pay close attention to what's in store for you in some of the ports.

depending on the port location...... my all time favorite activity is to vegetate on a nice quiet beach to me nothing is better

While in port, I love to:

4. Shop for souvenirs

5. Find a quiet spot, and people watch

When we go to new ports we like to take a town tour to get the lay of the land so to speak. Great for when we go back a 2nd time.

I also like to get the native beer. It's always fun to try new things.

Shop if it's a new port to buy my wall hanging and a magnet.

Most of the ports we've been to we like to enjoy the ship while it's empty or hang out at a beach club and do nothing!

We like to do different things at all of the ports that we go to. We'll tour, shop, snorkel, etc. at chosen ports. Of course, Cindy will always make sure that shopping time is available at each port.

I wish I could snorkel. I would eat, but I'm always full from eating on the ship.

Depending on the Port as Joey stated We like to:

1 Take Pictures of Historic Buildings and sites

2 Find a Good restaurant and Have a Good Local Brew with some good food

3 Find a nice Beach and just enjoy the Ocean and Chill out and have another Local Brew

4 Or Take a Tour of the island

5 Have another Local Brew, Thats My Limit!

6 Then go back to the Ship and Go Over My Limit!

And most of all Everyones covered about everything!

I like finding a spot where the locals hang out, just walking the street and absorbing it all in.

If I can I like to do an excursion that combines fun with local flavor, like 4-wheeling in Cozumel, snorkeling at Sting Ray city. It's also cool to check out the local market
