Mebert
When I go on a cruise, I tend to get up early and go to bed very late. I really lounge by the Lido Deck pool and when I go ashore I do a lot of walking, sometimes in the hot sun. The only rest I get may be on sea days if someone doesn't invite me to an early morning breakfast. Disembarkation is really a drag because one has to get up so early to vacate the cabin. Because of the way I cruise, I find that I'm exhausted by the end of the cruise and then have to deal with airport and luggage and security issues at the airport so I usually schedule an extra vacation day to rest from my vacation. Do you go right back to work after your cruise or do you need one day of rest?
mercedes
I usually need a vacation after my vacation, so I always take a few extra days off to get myself back to reality .
Suzila
If we're flying somewhere and get in late, then hubby takes the next day off. If it's an early flight, he does go to work the next day. I, on the other hand, 'work' at home taking care of my 92 year old Dad. No extra days of leisure for me.
Spikesgirl
We always try to stay a couple of days in the disembarkation port to 'rest up', but if there's any shfiting through time zones, I'm a mess for a week afterwards. I went into work after getting in the night before from Australia and my boss sent me home for fear that I would hurt myself - I was that loggy. Of course, by the time I got home, I was on Aussie time and sleep wasn't an option. Sigh, the sacrifices we make for cruising.... cruisetarp
I generally come home exhausted. While I still get up at the same time each morning as when I am home, I stay up much later at night. I try to sleep in during the cruise but I guess I'm afraid I will miss something. KeithnRita
When we drive to port, 800 miles or so, I will add an extra day to our vacation to rest. When flying I just go back to work the next day and rest!
Love2Travel
We certainly do not relax on our cruise... we do not want to miss anything So....we like to stay for a few days post cruise.... that way I don't get so depressed about the cruise being over. Then if i can, I like to take a day off after I get home.. believe me I like to stretch the vacation as much as I can. I am lucky and get a pretty good amount of vacation every year.
