Mebert
The latest is I broke a pair of scissors trying to get into one of those clear plastic toy containers. I think cans may be made slightly different too. There isn't as much lip on the can and the cheap can openers don't open them as easily. I dropped my electric can opener and broke it so I ran down to the local grocery store and purchased one of those cheap mechanical ones with the fancy handle. Well, it doesn't open the cans at all. The funny thing is I found a very old mechanical can opener in my utility drawer and it opened the can easily and perfectly. What's happening here? hazelson, You're too funny. I'll see you at the dentist.
GottaCruz
This is so funny but so true. Great topic, Mebert. Did you ever try to cut open one of those manila envelopes ? It feels like there is bubble wrap inside but when you cut into it , all that papery sawdusty stuff comes out all over the place. I hate that. And did your ever try to repackage an appliance that comes with all that styrofoam in the box??? I can never make it fit back in the box again. Joanandjoe
We agree. We just purchased a new external hard drive, and it took three people 15 minutes, a knife, and scissors--plus a lot of tugging -- to get the package open.
KeithnRita
We are so glad we still have our chainsaw!
Mebert
GottaCruz, You're right about some of those jigsaw puzzle packages. One needs a Phd to repack some of those items. I posted the topic out of frustration and desparation. We agree. We just purchased a new external hard drive, and it took three people 15 minutes, a knife, and scissors--plus a lot of tugging -- to get the package open. Joanandjoe, That is too funny!!! We are so glad we still have our chainsaw! Keith & Rita, Make sure you keep that chainsaw. You're going to need it to open up the new things for the house. Make sure they don't shrink wrap the fine china. You'll have to use that chainsaw with the skill of a fine surgeon.
Mebert
Please accept my apologies. I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum. GottaCruz, Is there any way to move this?
hazelson
Mebert - just leave it where it is - we're enjoying it! Then there's those wonderful styrofoam peanuts - ever tried getting those things back in the box on a "staticy" day? A litte clingy lol. Jimmykaboots
Hahah Hazelson, that's priceless! Just a little clingy eh? Mommy I see a snowman, hush child, just ignore it. It's just some advertising gimmick. Argh I hate those packingings, just today I was putting away christmas lights hanging outside, I jammed the lights into five different boxes which all would NOT close properly. I tore three boxes, and one box even went BOOM and blew compeltely open at the seems. ARGH! It drove me insane! About opening those plastic tight packages though, I once sprayed air freshener on the tip of the package cause I was very angry since the hedge trimmer wouldn't even cut though(we don't have a chainsaw, just a hedge trimmer :'( ) Then lit the blasted thing on fire, couldn't stop the fire, so I threw it in the tub of water(shower time, wanted a candy in my mouth) and fished it back out. I finally opened up the blasted package of creamy candies, good thing they were individually wrapped inside the package haha. But I wonder, was all the heck even worth it. Maybe pyromaniacs isn't such a good idea after all. Could you imagine setting an explosive charge on a package to open it, STAND BACK! I'm opening this box of smarties! Kabooey! Smarties fly everyone! Aww shucks, well I always wanted a smarties design wallpaper.
