Changing TA's

How would one go about changing TA's for an upcoming cruise. This cruise has a down payment made and is still a year away. I would rather not change, but I have a feeling that my TA may be gone before final payment time. I'm just trying to protect my cabin and down payment.

Thanks

Once the reservation is made and the money is put down you shouldn't have any problems with the cruiseline. I would make sure that they received they received the deposit. Not sure what you mean by gone but I'm sure if it was out of business then the booking would revert to you anyway and you could make final payment to the cruiseline.

Peddler,

Does your TA work for a company or does he work on his own?

If he works for a company than your booking number should be enough to transfer to another agent easily.

If he's an independent TA, I would ask him outright what his future plans are and what are your options in the event he is "gone" before final payment. You have a right to know that information so that you are not inconvenienced.

I may have mis-stated my first statement.

I talked to my TA (a one man agency at this time) and after he told me he was doing the business by himself, I began to have a few "IF's". He has been an excellent TA. He is getting up in years, and since he has no help, retirement could be iminate. I'l have to talk to him some and try to detirmine his future.

The question was an "IF" and I'm hoping a rebook isn't necessary as we have a hump balcony on the cruise in question.

Thanks again

Jim
