nanapinky
Thanks for welcoming me to the board. Im going on my first cruise on April 22 on Carnival Sensation to the Bahamas. I am going with one of my best girlfriends, her daughter and her 2 grandchildren. We have vacationed together before, but never on a cruise although they have been before. I dont know what to expect. They didnt have any rooms to fit 5 of us (with a crib) so they bumped us to a penthouse suite. After reading posts in other boards, dont want to be labeled a VIP snob...This might be the only cruise I will be going on for a while, so Im taking full advantage of it. Have any of you cruised on the Sensation lately and what were your thoughts. Still trying to decide on excursions in Nassau. I guess we are going to dolphin encounter. So what cruise line do most of you cruise on? Thanks for any answers or suggestions in advance. I am sure I will have many more questions. cruisetarp
Hi Nanapinky. Glad to see you posting and becoming an active Cruise Crazies member. I have never sailed Carnival - usually sail on either Royal Caribbean or Celebrity but I know there are a lot of Carnival fans here. I'm sure they can answer any questions you may have. We have never done the Dolphin Excursion in Nassau but did hear good things about it. I hope you have a wonderful time - just be warned - after your first cruise you will probably be as "hooked" as we all are.

Spikesgirl
Nanapinky, congrats on your first cruise. It can be the most exciting of times as you will never be able to cruise again with the same eyes. Eveything will be compared to that first experience. Hope you have the best time ever and don't forget to do a review when you get back. Cheers! Charlie
Gregswife
Nanapinky, welcome to the forum and congrats on your impending 1st cruise. We have only sailed on Carnival and I love their cruise line, but then I have nothing to compare it with. The couple we will be sailing with on our upcoming Conquest cruise, have only gone on 1 previous cruise and it was on Royal Caribbean, so I will be anxious to hear their comparisions. Our first cruise, back in '95 aboard the Fantasy, was also to the Bahamas. Our ports of call were Freeport and Nassau. We took the kids to Coral World in Nassau, which has a glassed in area down under the water and you can see the sealife up close, and they really loved it. Not sure if it is even still there. In Freeport, we took the ship's shuttle into Port Lucia, and took a snorkeling tour from there. If you dock in Nassau. the pier is very close to the Straw Market, so I highly recommend a visit there. Can't wait to hear all about your trip - I love hearing about a "newbie's" impressions of the whole experience.
GottaCruz
Welcome aboard, nanapinky. Our very first cruise was aboard the Sensation and we loved it. A friend of ours recently returned from the Sensation and loved it too. The penthouse suite sounds amazing. Remember to post your cruise date to our CruiseCrazies calendar and the Passenger Meeting Hall. Enjoy the anticipation.
