It means "single digit midget", or less than 10 days to go. A DDM is a double digit midget, less than 100 days to go. Since we booked on 3/27 for a 4/15 cruise, leaving home on 4/13, we were DDM's immediately, and SDMs quickly. For our last cruise, which was booked nearly 16 months in advance, it took almost a year for us to be DDMs, more than 15 months for us to be SDMs.

I'm very busy at work, and there's a lot to do before Friday. We plan on leaving the house in about 100 hours (2:30 p.m. Friday), and we don't yet have airport transportation. We're just starting to pack.
