We have always ordered room service, and we are always blown away at how quickly the food arrives to your cabin!! We first started ordering room service late at night when we were back at the cabin and simply didn't feel like going back out again because we were exhausted.

On the last 3 cruises we sailed, we had a balcony cabin, and ordered coffee and bagels in the morning and ate them on the balcony, and then we ordered a mid-afternoon snack and ate that on the balcony as well. We have always been happy with the food, and like I said, the speed at which it arrived at our cabin. We love room service anyway whenever we go on vacation, but it's especialy wonderful on a cruise ship!

Dawn.

We also leave the card on the door at night and order room service breakfast on days we are arriving at a port. On those mornings we generally find the buffet is crowded with folks wanting to be the first ones off the ship and besides they call a minute or so before they arrive so it is our built in alarm clock. We have a nice quiet breakfast on our balcony and are ready to go explore a new place.

We usually order room service breakfast once or twice and they always have been good and timely. Once when Rita was ill with sea sickness (actually I think it was from nachos at the old upstairs Carlos & Charlies's in Cozumel) we ordered room service diner for sea sickness, which was really bad. It did have good chicken noodle soup, however.

We order room service once or twice each cruise; but most of the time we're too impatient to wait, and go to the Lido or dining room. On sea days, we never have room service, since we want to sleep as long as possible (sometimes even to 8 a.m., which is very late for us earlybirds).

The few times we've tried room service when we wanted to get off a ship early, it was a disaster: so many people wanting room service that they were very, very late. In Panama, the ship was so disorganized that the buses had to leave late, and we nearly missed our ferry slot for going through the Panama Canal!Surprisingly, since we're earlybirds, the dining room works better on those days than either the Lido or room service.

We've had some amazing things, like crab Benedict on Regent (eggs Benedict made with crab meat instead of bacon) for breakfast. The few times we've tried it other than for breakfast, it was mostly forgettable; but then, we avoid stuff like pizza, hamburgers, and fries on cruise ships. There's so much stuff to eat that's more interesting than most of the room service choices.
