I agree Mebert...Experienced cruisers will not be discouraged from future cruising. Instead, it's the potential cruisers who already doubt the safety onboard the ships. These are the people who most likely will not cruise.

as frustrating and as scary as the ordeal may appear from afar.. it is truly a personal expierence.... but in life the bottom line is carp happens... its all about how you deal with it..

the local news here is reporting that a group of high school students from Huntington beach CA were on the ship when it sunk. (not a school-sponsored trip) Apparently the girl wrote on her MySpace website that it was very scary and she lost everything except for the clothes on her back and her backpack. She also said there was some confusion about there not being enough life vests for everyone.

There is a video that shows the ship listing and sinking (not 100%) but I can't post it here. It's on my forum, but I'm not promoting my forum! You can watch it on YouTube as well. That's where I found it first. One of our posters linked the video to my site.

I just got home and will find that photo of the sunset in Santorini that I took...love the shot. I think you've seen it before Joey, but I'll share it with the others.

Weird...I just tried to put one of those "visited countries" maps that everyone has into my signature, but it's showing that I've only ever been to Germany! Haha...weird.

Hey Jason, how come I can't put Cruise Journals into my signature as my website? It seems like when I type it into my signature, that it reoutputs it as CruiseCrazies.

Are you really worried about a site that gets no traffic?

Really?!? I mean, I'm flattered, but c'mon...seems a bit ridiculous.

This is sooo lame...why are cruise forums so insular and paranoid about other cruise sites?

Honestly, I've never seen another group of webmasters who are so insecure about their audience...what gives? People have 'back' buttons on their browsers...

Well, I guess I'll just have to say "Joey, the address of that image is www.cruise********.com/images/ferry-sunset.jpg". You know what the blocked out part is. This is so stupid. Can't believe 'journals' can become a dirty word...but I guess it has.

Still the best forum on cruising though...shame there's no confidence in how good the community actually is on the part of the webmaster.

My map isn't working...hmm. It works when I build an html page and drop in into it, but not on here for some weird reason. Oh well....maybe it's just something that takes time. It's telling me that I've visited 51 countries (22%), but you'd never know it from my map!
