Spikesgirl
the way i see it is that everyone is, at birth, given an E Ticket (you older Disneyland foks will get me here). When your ticket is punched, your ride here is over. You never know when or where that can happen, so it's your repsonsibility to enjoy the ride as long as possible and not worry about the inevitible ending. I could think of worse ways to go than 'getting punched' on a cruise ship. Charlie
Mebert
Spikesgirl, That was very well put. I don't mind the stories because I either don't look at them or read them if I've had enough of a story. My regret is that sometimes the media acts as a bystander instead of being active in saving lives or in educating the public with informaton on generic things to do in case of a tragic event occurs. I thing folks have to take the muster drills a lot more seriously, like how do you get a life jacket if you're not near your cabin and something happens. sailingrose
I couldn't understand the people who cancelled their cruises that were months out on Crown after it listed. What are the chances it would happen twice........LOL! We watch and read the stories and then take it with a grain of salt.
IBCRUZIN39
The recent reports are nothing to someone who has enjoyed a cruise. It is a big deal for those who are saying, "oh I can be surround by water." Guess what, you can be in your living room and a tornado comes along with little or no warning and then wham!!!! You are an angel. These stories will just keep the industry on their toes. For example, Carnival is/was cracking down on the beverages allowed to be brought abroad. They say no more but I think that may have been more for the spring break crowd than their summer families and groups and the diehards that cruise in the fall (middle of hurricane season).
