We usually give them some chocolate and other small goodies throughout the trip. The last cabin steward had an attraction to Butterfingers and every morning I greeted him with one. I generally bring candy aboard and pass it out among the crew especially on ships I frequent as they always remember me.

We have always left the regular tips on the ship account and we leave a thank-you card with another $25 cash at the end of the cruise. We do the same for our dining room team as well.

But I did make my room steward a towel animal once - but being the talented persont hat I am - it ended up being a snake (very difficult lol) wearing my sunglasses.

Do you go to the Caprains party? What about the Art Auctions? Do you go for the Free Booze?

I have been to the Captain's party a couple of times, to the art auctions... I think that is a LARGE scam....lol .... besides they only serve champage at the art auctions....

I always go to the Captain's party. Fun to see everyone dressed up. Yummy appetizers. Free drinks. And we like to go onstage and dance like grown-ups. Not that we can dance very well. But it's fun.

Chris likes to go to the art auction. Not to buy. Just look. They usually have some pretty cool stuff. I won a painting last year. I don't care for wine or champagne so that part is not a big deal for me...

Rarely ever go to the Captain's party anymore. DH goes to the art auctions on occasion. We do go to the repeaters parties as the goodies they serve are good and we get lots of info about what's coming up for the line.

I agree with you Rose. We don't go to the Captain's party anymore but always go to the C & A Diamond party.
