mercedes
We take port pictures and if we like them (that rarely happens) we will buy them.
Chucksta63
Question of the Day! Why do you cruise vs. some other type of vacation? What makes you want to cruise?
SmooCruise
Value<]....you can't take the same level of service vacation on a land based for the same amount of money. Relaxation<]....you get on board and once that ship sails away, all worries are gone. I don't have to drive. I don't have to find a restaurant. I can choose to do lots of stuff all day, or nothing all day.
CanadianCruiser
Price ! Especially now since the Canadian dollar is so strong....
mercedes
It’s a great way to see a lot of places in a short time. If there is a particular place I really like I always go back on a land vacation.
TheSkipper
As others have said cruising is far less hassle. Almost everytime we do a land vacation at some point one of us says "we should have taken a cruise." We spend a precruise week in Orlando this past spring and it cost us far more than the cruise which followed.
JoeyandDavid
convenience ... many ports............ one unpacking
Joanandjoe
All of the above. The feeling of being pampered is hard to beat. There's one problem with the idea of "if we like a port on a cruise, we'll go back on a land trip". After 10 cruises, we haven't yet had a land vacation at a single port we've visited, and we've visited some beauties: Nice, Barcelona, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Mallorca, Bermuda, Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City, Cozumel, various Caribbean islands and Alaska ports, Vancouver, etc. Nice theory about land trips, and maybe one day it will actually happen. sailingrose
I agree too with all of the above reasons and I'll add one more. When we started cruising with our kids it was a great way to have a family vacation. My kids have gotten a great education on different cultures, different religions, different countries etc. They loved the kids programs and us adults got some down time without them.
