We normally take some extra time. Our first cruise, the kiddos were with us, so we went to DisneyWorld for a week after getting off the ship. The next year (kids along then too), we rwent to Key Largo, immediately upon disembarkation. We are sailing from Galveston for the first time next cruise, so would like to take some extra time and hang out in Austin for a few days after the cruise is over.

I'll take a whack at the last two questions -

Do we pre or post cruise - absolutely, but we have always sailed abroad and if we hadn't taken the time, we never would have had a chance to see the embarkation/dembarkation ports.

Our favorite cabin - OS 8067 on the Pacific Princess. These suites are fabulous and are the largest cabins in the fleet 9with the exception of the great huge $$$ ones). The balcony is a wrap around and has enough room for at least 12 people. We always look to see if the Pacific or the Tahitian is available for a route because we know which cabins we are going after.

On our 1st cruise, we booked an oceanview cabin down low to the water in the middle of the ship. We both have a bad history of motion illness, and were told that we had less chance of getting seasick there. When we got to the dock, we were told that we were upgraded to the top deck with a balcony. We both immediately began to worry about getting sick. As soon as we stepped into our cabin and saw the balcony, we forgot all about getting sick. We thought we were in the lap of luxury. Unfortunately, this upgrade has cost me lots of money over the years because now we will never cruise without having a verrandah cabin. Even so, that first cabin is my favorite.
