I have clicked on some of the sponsors and they are some great deals. I have not taken advantage of them yet. I book all my excursions through the ship, although I could probably get a better deal with an outside person, I feel better knowing that I am with the ship's excursion and even if we are late, they will not leave us ...lol.

I've checked out a couple of the ads...

as far as excursions...on my last 2 cruises I used only Carnival's excursions. But for the Loco cruise I plan on branching out and using avenues not offered by Carnival. I think being with a group this time makes me feel safer to do that. BUT, I am seriously researching the options I want to take to assure that they are reputable.

We book our excursions on board - safer that way.

How early do you book your airfare & hotels for your cruise?[/size]

For our cruise in Jan I have booked my flights and booked the hotel...

I always book my air fare through the cruise line, which is about a year in advance (I booked my Med/Greek Isles cruise leaving on June 15, 2008 back in December 2006). My hotel about 6 months before I leave.

I'm dying to see how that $2 hotel deal works out.....

I've only cruised west coast. And I live about 3 hours from the embarcation port. So no need for air or hotel. BUT someday when I get to cruise Caribbean and Alaska I will book air and hotel with my cruise. And I like to do that at least a year out.

Start checking into the airfare as soon as we book a cruise - but we are usually to far out - so book as soon as the schedules come up. Hotels are done much closer to cruise time :o)
