wildewoman
I hear you on the warm beaches!! We like the Carribean also. Last year we spent a week in Sint Maarten - we're divers & the weather in September was fabulous!! Do you usually do the same Carribean Cruise - or do you go to different ports? Living in CA we'd have to fly to Florida or Puerto Rico to start the cruise. We have a group tour "Loco in Acapuloc" gang that is doing the Mexican Riviera cruise in January 2009. January here in No. CA will be rainy - so a Mexican Cruise sounds yummy!!
hazelson
Linda - I posted a question a while back about what to buy in Alaska - I'll bump it up for you. I got some great suggestions from other Crazies!!! It's "Alaska Question #2"

saltydog
Congrats on your upcoming Alaska cruise. You will really enjoy it especially since you are the 'adventure' type. We did the cruise on RCCL's Vision of the seas' 2 years ago. We first did a three night land tour of Denali national park and then boarded the ship for the inside passage trip to Vancouver. We were there in late August and the temps stayed around 50 or 55 most of the time. Try the fresh salmon at a cookout. Wonderful stuff. If you get the time you might try the 'White Pass and Yukon train ride that goes from up into Canada and back. Very neat ride on a small train up some incredible mountains. Have a great time planning your trip. Cheers Tim
zebra
Linda, you're going to absolutely love it. We've been twice and are on our way up through Canada to Alaska as I type this. Does your ship offer the glacier sled dog ride - you fly up in a helicopter? It's a must do!!!! Alaska doesn't have a whole lot of shopping other than the usual sweats and T'shirts, but you must buy an Ulu - a very special Alaskan knife. There's also plenty of canned smoked salmon and Russian doll Christmas ornaments. It is an unbelievable cruise - trust me!!!
wildewoman
Great ideas!! I have the knives down - as a must buy for Christmas gifts for the family. In Juneau - we've decided on the Glacier Helicopter Trek!! We fly to the glacier & we actually get to wear crapons!! We can't wait!!
