JohnG
From our local paper: (for all those who say they'll not cruise because they might get the norovirus) Officials at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital say a flu-like illness has affected people at the hospital. The Virginia Department of Health has just confirmed that tests show the illness to be the norovirus. The illness has made 6 patients, 14 staff members, 2 visitors and at least one doctor sick. Officials say the sickness passes within 2 to 3 days.

Dan
Well, clearly somebody who just got off a cruise ship went to that hospital and infected those poor people.
Spikesgirl
I still think cruise ships get a bad rap with Noro. i'm jsut recovering from it and haven't been on a ship since July - long incubation period I guess. A good friend works at an assisted life center and she sees Noro all the time. I worke din a colloege and it would sweep through the entire campus about twice a year. It's just that those are low profile and feed the media frenzy. Wiht Noro - you can run (or float), but you can't hide... Charlie
Dan40
Check with the CDC, the chances of contacting NORO on land are 8 times greater than catching it on a ship. But grade schools, hi schools and colleges missing a % of students for a few days aren't news. Also catching it at the MALL will never be news, that's where the advertisers live. Cruise ships are news. Dan
