So I have been getting things at the store (tips from this board thanks you!!!!) and putting them in a box marked CRUISE. My dh thinks Im nuts but I want to be prepaired an not have to look everywhere for them when it gets time to pack and set sail. When he saw the box he just rolled his eyes, I keep telling him he will thank me on the cruise for being so prepaired and knowledgeable LOL.

So far I have:

*extention cord

*Over the door shoe hanger

*Spray sunscrean

*Static Spray for clothes

*Highlighers (2colors)

*travel shampoo and conditioner bottles

*small notebook to write at night what we did (I have the worst memory)

*Pens

what else should I get ready? do I need? ... Help a Newbie 1st time cruiser out! THanks!

ok...this one is controversial....but something I used. If you have a balcony room a bungee cord can be used to hold your balcony door open. People say it keeps the air conditioning from coming on but I didn't notice that. But I was also having it open either in the morning or at night. Not in the heat of the day. You also need to close the balcony door before you open your main cabin door or it causes a wind tunell! *LOL* I loved having my balcony door open at night and listening to the waves lap against the boat as I fall asleep.

We always bring a couple of clothes pins, a small roll of clear tape, a box cutter (in checked baggage, of course) and a black marker. The latter items are for shipping home anything that might be necessary. Chris keeps it all in a small zip lock baggie and it has gone around the world with us. We also like to take a small travel clock, a small flash light (for the bedstand at night) and a small hand-held fan. That was a godsend in China.
