wildewoman
I saw the travel channel has a couple of shows on Hawaii coming up!! One is the Top 10 things to do in Hawaii. Of course the Luau is # 1 - then maybe a helicopter ride!! L
SmooCruise
my must do list for Hawaii: only go to Oahu to do these things: Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial. Very touching! International Marketplace Polynesian Cultural Center Waikiki Beach After you've done these things get the heck to another island!!! Oahu is CROWDED and does not have the true Aloha feeling in my opinion. But the above things are definitely worth going there for. Maui....Haleakala Crater, Lahaina, and the drive to Hana are must sees. Kauai - not real big on night life here. But a BEAUTIFUL island!!! Be sure to make the trek to Waimea Canyon. If you're lucky and it's not foggy you'll have an incredible view! Hawaii (Big Island)......so much to do here! Akaka Falls are AMAZING! The volcano of course....cowboy country, Rainbow Falls...and much more. Again....I'm not sure I want to cruise here. To me it's more of a land-based destination. Too much to see and do on each island to only be there for a few hours. Just my opinion, of course....

Ol39Capt
I would really like to see the memorial and take a harbor tour more than the beach..
wildewoman
Thanks for the list Smoo!! Sounds like you've been doing your research!! We have only been to Maui - we loved it!! L
SmooCruise
Linda....I've been to Hawaii five times. My ex and I used to go every other winter. I love Hawaii. Frank....the memorial and harbour tour is truly amazing. You see a movie before the tour. And you're sitting there with all the other tourists....of which many are Japanese. It wasn't uncomfortable...just weird. And to see the ships under the water.....very eerie. Brings that whole era to life.
wildewoman
WOW!! Smoo - we can use you for inside info. when we get close to planning excursions. I want to do this trip - so I can see a little of each island. Then I can plan an entire week on the one that we like the best!! Like the best Luau, the best snorkle beach, etc. L

wildewoman
YOU DON'T SNORKEL!! Smoo - what's up with that? There is so much to see!! I am an advanced certified diver - with certifications in stress diving, under water nature & underwater photography. It is one of the first things I check out when we plan a trip!! EVEN IN ALASKA!!
