love2cruise
I've been on 3 cruises since 02 rotating between Royal and Carnival. I really enjoy Royal better with the bigger ships and more activities. We usually do a family cruise with between 12-50 people depending on whose going. Our last cruise was on Carnival in 06 and only cost around $650. We always go the week of Thanksgiving and this year we plan on going on Royal, but OMG, the prices are outrageous! We want to travel on the FOS or the LOS which I know are new and bigger ships, but I didn't expect such a jump in price!! I haven't gotten a quote less than $950. I know it's been a couple of years since we've been on Royal, and I was expecting the prices to be more, but not by this much. Guess I need to keep looking. sailingrose
Freedom and Liberty have been commanding big bucks since they debuted. Don't see that changing just yet, maybe when Independence hits the ocean. Did you check out the voyager class prices?
love2cruise
I checked prices for Mariner of the Seas and they also around $900. Next thing I'll do I guess is to check dates for October.
TheSkipper
What kind of accomodations are we talking about here? Balcony? Inside?? I have not seen any general price increases in the last couple of years, so my first guess is that it's the time of year or ship selection. As a point of interest, our January group cruise on the Carnival Spirit out of SD has lowered the group pricing twice since we first booked. For an 8 nite cruise you can now get a balcony cabin for less than $760 or an inside for about $500. BTW, I am not a Travel Agent, just an avid cruiser. kampbell411
The prices really depend on the time of year and type of ship. There are deals all over the place so you can always find a good deal. Cheers
jtutak
If you go when you want to go & where you want to go you will probably pay top dollar! But if you shop & are flexible you can still save a lot.
