SmooCruise
I've only cruised twice, both times on Carnival. While there were some children on board, I really only noticed them at dinner. They were always dressed so cute. Maybe we just picked times of the year to cruise where there weren't a whole lot of children aboard. Chucksta63
The responce of the Cabin Stewards always great! Last time my remote was not working right. I asked one of the guys in the hall cleaning & he promptly paged my cabin steward (who was off duty) & he (my cabin steward) came right up & took care of the problem! Great Service I am going with! Once my wife's strap on her dress broke right before diner (formal). The Cabin Steward was right there with a safty pin & offered to get it sewn. Thats what I like! GottaCruz
I've been on approximately 27 Carnival cruises. We can always count on excellent food.
KimmyKat
I have only been on Carnival twice, but I would have to say that both times the service and food were very good. OH...and the bedding!!! We absolutely love the Carnival beds and bedding.
Gregswife
Kimmy, our upcoming Conquest cruise in Nov. will be our first since they introduced the comfort bedding on Carnival. I am excited about having the king sized bed without the seperation down the middle of having 2 twins pushed together. For those of you who sailing on Carnival - make sure and tell them that you want the beds pushed together and the twin mattresses removed and a king mattress put on. I hear the sheets, pillows and down comforter are very nice...
OceanAngel
I have to agree with the others. The bedding, food, service staff are all awesome!!! The only difference I have noticed, is when we was on the Elation they didnt offer the galley tour. I asked why they said thats something that Carnival has stopped since 9-11. I had been on the Inspiration since 9-11 and it was offered. Since the Elation I have been on the Miracle, the Galley tour was offered there as well. jemingway
You can count on lots of kids. We cruise Carnival for the many opportunities for our kids. When they don't go, we go on Celebrity or Princess. You can count on good food and good service on Carnival. The specialty restaurants have been excellent. Their casinos are very large also with live music, if that's your thing. I've only cruised twice, both times on Carnival. While there were some children on board, I really only noticed them at dinner. They were always dressed so cute. Maybe we just picked times of the year to cruise where there weren't a whole lot of children aboard. We go during spring break or the middle of the summer, so there are lots of kids. I'm not complaining, just making the observation.
jacketwatch
As an aside its so interesting how this thread contrasts with another one on fodors that I am involved with which compares CCL to RCI. I actually totaled and averaged the latest scores for Carnival and RCI from x and they are identical. ( 4.44 for RCI and 4.43 for CCL) And for CCL we are talking nearly 4k reviews!! Yet many over there equate CCL to the Clampetts. I think they have missed the boat. Pun intended of course. I have taken only one Carnival cruise but loved it and would take them again in a heartbeat unless of course they start serving possum belly stew and grits w/ gopher gravy and start serving moonshine down by the cement pond. SmooCruise
I have only cruised Carnival so I'm not really qualified to compare. BUT...I don't understand why Carnival has a bad rep on some boards. I have received only the highest standard of service, excellent quality of food and a great value for my money. I can't see spending more money for another cruise line when I can have such a great time on Carnival!
jacketwatch
I'm not sure why either. Maybe because when they first began decades ago they were a budget, low cost alternative but my oh my how times have changed. I think reputation outlasts reality in many cases. Even the professional reviews at x note their beginnings as a budget line but state how now they are a major player in the mass market lines. Indeed look at all that they own. I say nearly 4k passenger reviews tell a resounding affirmation about the quality they have attained. JM2C. Larry
