MrsAmanda7
I always tease my parents about their desire to go there, but I would have to say Alaska. For me, I love to bake in the sun and party day and night. I'm sure it comes with age, and one day I will be excited to go. However, for now, I would pass up any cruise to Alaska. MrsAmanda7
Perhaps I should start teaming up with the Troublemakers Tour?
cruisetarp
The only place we ever visited where I felt completely unsafe is the pier area of Ocho Rios. There were armed guards standing around and the locals were relentless in trying to offer cabs and sell us drugs. They did not understand a simple "no thanks". Even our tour guide warned us not to hang around the area. Once we got away from the port we saw some wonderful scenery and went to Dunn River falls but the port experience was such that I would never leave the ship there again. shargurl
I have only visited 3 ports on the 2 cruises I have taken, but I enjoyed every one. We have been to Jamaica, and yes we were approched by locals, but our tour guide was wonderful and out of all of them, my experience in Jamaica was the best. boba
Brady121291, I was wondering about getting robbed at Labadee, also. Was it the vendors? They're very pushy but confined to an area. Was it another passenger? Sorry for being so nosy.

elfed
Another very good question. I think most places in the Caribbean have their good and bad sides. Same goes for Mexico. I thought going along on a ship's shore excursion was the safest bet until I read recently of a hold up in Jamaica of a ship's tour and the people were robbed at gunpoint. One of the robbers got away but police killed the other guy. Virtually all the popular islands are risky if you don't know where you are going.By and large I would still have to say though that the escorted shore excursions are the safest way to go around. Regards, James.
TheSkipper
I'm with the no Alaska group. Stationed in the Aleution Islands in the Navy and that was enough for me. To me cruising is a warm weather sport, period. Did the norwegian fjords in July wearing a ski coat. Never again!
KeithnRita
Well, since our city was a cruise port last year, we would say Evansville, IN!!
