Peddler
I was a smoker (3 pack a day) for 40 years or so. I personally commend RCCL for stepping up with a no smoking policy. A smoker really doesn't bother me and I'm not going to run around with a respirator on just because someone around me is smoking. I fell each have their own rights, and the smoker has his/her right as well as the non-smoker. Just do it in a designated area, and if your not pushy about I may even go with you although I no longer smoke.
jacketwatch
"get a life"? Listen amigo I have been a critical care RN for 28 yrs. and have seen up close and personal what cigarettes do. Smoking kills and debilitates. Getting a life is exactly the point and it doesn't get any more serious than that. Isn't it time you quit?
GottaCruz
Congratulations, Peddler, on quitting smoking.
zebra
Way to go RCCL - I hope all the cruise lines follow, including "no smoking on balconies"!!!!
riteonglor
You best not bet on that one, I will bet the population will decline. People that smoke are getting tired of the people that think they have a right to what they want but no one else does. With the non-smokers or at least most of them, they even gripe about someone going outside on a balcony to smoke, ewww, it might drift over. Get a life, I'd hate to see there whole world come to an end if something really serious happens in their life besides some smoke drifting over. "get a life"? A critical care nurse should never assume....I never started so I never have to try and quit, I just think its so asinine of people trying to be judge and jury on what someone else does or doesn't do. Drinking kills and debilitates, lets stop that, also, no more booze on cruises.

jacketwatch
Its interesting that you as a non-smoker advocate smokers rights. Usually its smokers who advocate such a stance but the unusual is always possible. This would make you a rare bird so to speak. I must say that the beauty of this board is the friendliness of its members. We talk cruising or whatever else comes up and do so cordially. Whatever else happens on this thread this board will continue to do so I think. Happy cruising to you amigo. :-)
