txSherry
Here's a link to someone else's photobucket of a Fantasy Capers. It says "Sat. Day 1 *** parent must be present until 10pm" EEK! Who's used Carnival Kids club before that can help me understand!? It sounds like we have to be there from 4pm to 10pm that first day? I really was going to try to sleep before that too. 10pm? for real?
Gregswife
Sherry, it sounds like maybe they are making that first evening a family night - maybe it is to help the kids get adjusted to something new. Our kids were young teenagers when we started cruising so they have attended the Carnival programs for teens, but not the ones for the younger kiddo's. CanadianCruiser
I have used Camp Carnival on each cruise, and I have never seen that written, lol Orientation is a good idea if you have neve rused CC before. The orientation lasts for about 45 mins, basically you fill out paperwork, meet the counsellors and see what envorment your children are going to be in for the week... The link you provided doesnt even look like Camp Carnival capers...
GottaCruz
We did Camp Carnival for years. From what I remember, it means that the first day, those activities listed are for you to attend with your kids. They said you must be there till 10 for that last activity , ice cream party, because promptly at 10, when you leave , they start charging by the hour for the slumber party. So, you need to attend that orientation, welcome aboard party and family ice cream party with the kids and then at 10 you can take off, leave the kids for the slumber party , but you do pay starting at 10PM. DD always loved those slumber parties . It was worth every penny to us so we could do our own thing and we knew she was well supervised and enjoying herself. That first day is really just to familiarize everyone with the counselors and program. On the second day, the camp activities and your freedom really begin. Enjoy every moment.
